Looks like the Coleman renovation may be pushed back. Byrne said today the BEST CASE SCENARIO was they’d begin renovating in 3 or 4 years LINK /

I guarantee Coleman upgrades won’t happen during Oats tenure here. They’ll keep getting pushed back over and over again.

Exactly why Oats will leave us for a better job as soon as one calls. Bama doesn’t care about basketball anymore and it’s sickening

If Oats leaves because of a better job, it will mean he’s had enough success to attract a true or near blue blood hoops program. If that happens, Coleman renovations won’t matter one way or the other.

Not necessarily. He could win 19 and 20 games in the next 2 years with one tourney appearance which isn’t much more than what we’ve done recently and Michigan State would still call him before anyone else if Izzo retired. I’m sure a few other schools would too.

I disagree but let’s say they do. Michigan State has been to one fewer tourney THIS CENTURY than we have in our entire history. If he wants that job and it is offered a stadium will not make one bit of difference.

And why NOT renovate Coleman? There’s only one excuse to make that palatable: the cost of the renovation has gone up significantly and we can put it off 3-4 years and raze it and start from scratch. Otherwise, frick the FOGs that are ruining our athletic department. The money’s there, spend it on our other programs too.

I say again, natural disaster is the only way that we'll get major renovations to that freaking dump. frick the FOGs. All that renovation talk was to shut the fans up.

That's a Pete Thamel and Pat Forde link, meaning it is only slightly less reliable than a Magic 8 ball. When is the last time they were right about any NCAA scandal?

But, having said that, if we're going to accept that story as accurate there's this part too.

The NCAA also confirmed that there are additional schools targeted past those six, saying that “likely additional schools” will be added.

So will the NCAA actually hammer Arizona and Kansas? Is Louisville looking at the Death Penalty as a repeat offender? All this tough talk is well and good but either do it right and slap everybody involved commensurate with their transgressions or don’t do it at all. Stripping 5 scholarships from Creighton because you’re pissed off at Kansas won’t fly this time.

Louisville is in a terrible position. They are probably as close to the death penalty as anyone's been for a very long time.

@Greg_Byrne Mr. Byrne all of this money being spent on renovations to stadiums that dont need it meanwhile the athletic facility thats needs a renovation the most(Coleman Coliseum) keeps getting pushed back. Its a damn shame our Boosters and Donors only care about football. So I beg you,Mr Byrne, do the right thing for Our Coach,Our Players, and ours fans and get Coleman done ASAP. Excitement is at an all time high, time to capitalize.

He’s just gonna block you. Like I said before, he’s just a “Yes man” for Saban and football just like every other AD we’ve had in recent memory.

Let me play Devil's Advocate: Maybe Greg knows costs will come down whenever the next big recession happens. Plus, we're in the middle of a Trade War which doesn't help steel costs.

Saban is the only one that can get Coleman renovated.

Sorry guys. All the FOG, booster, AD bitching seems a little silly to me right now.

If all the powers that be really didn’t care, we’d still have Avery. End of story.

How quickly some of y’all forget how overdue Grant’s firing was.

We’ll see what happens with Coleman. Maybe Byrne was just trying to emphasize the need for more fundraising.

I get that it’s frustrating. I agree I’d like to see Coleman done first because I like BDS how it is currently. At the same time, football dwarfs basketball in financial importance. Not just here, but pretty much everywhere.

The fact that Kansas and Arizona are included in this, will be the only reason the NCAA takes it easy on the teams.
