Matt Norlander:

quote:

I don’t know if this was publicly known or not, but Book Richardson’s lawyer said in court today that he and Richardson assisted Villanova in its vetting process when it looked into the eligibility of Jahvon Quinerly and Richardson “made it clear” he didn’t pay the Quinerlys.

Cecil quoted this tweet and said:

This will be a key component in the Quinerlys’ appeal for an NCAA waiver that could make Jahvon Quinerly immediately eligible at Alabama.

Also, Richardson was sentenced to 3 months in prison, which can’t hurt Q’s case either

Honestly if you think about it Quinerly has a legit gripe. I mean it has to be scary to think the NCAA is about to come down on you. Couldve had a lot of sleepless nights.

Same. JQ and Oats both retweeted Norlander’s tweet as well. JQ also quoted it and said:

If Quinerly gets a waiver my expectations may become dangerously high. Already felt we we had a good chance of making it to the 2nd round of the tourney.

I think he will get a waiver now...would be shocked if he didnt.

But still have to see him do it on the court before I get way too excited, hopefully the FBI stuff did really effect his play.

Im more excited about Beetle. I think he is going to be ridiculously good for us.

A Kira,JQ,Beetle,Petty backcourt gets me real excited.

I am most excited about Beetle too. Quinerly has the potential to be our best player if he lives up to the promise he showed in HS, pretty big if though. Beetle has proven already he can be a really good college player.

I watched March Madness followed by these NBA Playoffs/Finals, and good basketball is so damn fun to watch, and it goes up even another notch when it’s your team that’s good. I want Bama to be a consistent Top 10-15 team in the nation every year so bad, it feels like it’s headed that way

Well it seems we have a good coach, and the talent is good.....just gotta see how it meshes on the court. I expect a tourney appearance at least

Looking at Alex Reese's stats, it's clear he should've played more minutes.

Here are his game logs.

Not counting the first game of the season, Reese played over 20 minutes in 6 games, in those 6 games he averaged 13 points and 6 rebounds a game in 23 minutes a game.

If we could get that out of him over the course of this season I would definitely take it.

That would be more points per game than Donta Hall got as a JR and about the same about of rebounds.

I would almost guarantee he will be our starting 5.

Ive been higher on Reese than almost everyone here. But IMO he is an elite shooter for a bigman who just wasnt in shape. Now that we have a real S&C coach and not a fraud Im high on him having a big year. Snowden will have him in shape.

Who yall think we are gonna play in our 1st round Battle 4 Atlantis game?

Imma guess Iowa State or Michigan....but Even though we should lose would love UNC or Gonzaga.

Really though everyone in the field but Southern Miss would be a quality game.
