In oats offense the 3 isn't played by a forward, it's played by a guard, even the 4 is played by a guard in his offense a lot of the time. This is why his teams are able to play so fast without turning it over a ton.
I should add to this though, that we obviously don't have the roster to play this way this year, so it will be interesting to see how Oats changes his style to fit our current roster, which is more Forward heavy and a bit light on good ball handlers.

We offered 2021 4-star PG Daeshun Ruffin. He dropped 51 and 6 assists at 8 am today

Kid looks short
He is either 5'9 or 5'10 depending on which recruiting site you look at, and he may still grow an inch or two, he is only a Sophomore.
Even if he doesn't you don't really have to be tall to be a good PG, Jared Harper and Tremont Waters are around 5'10. So is Markus Howard for Marquette who is one of the best PGs in CBB.

Looks like his team just played another game. He scored 31 with 9 rebounds and 8 assists

Id rather have Herb on the floor locking guys down anyway.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Please re-watch the games, he ain’t Bruce Bowen now. Herb is so over-rated here I just don’t get it. This board hated him last season, he’s awful!
Pray to the good Lord that Tevin stays, Rojas is good, and Gary is the real deal so we never have to see Herb play again.

9 rebounds for a guy 5'9/5'10 is insane, he must play with a lot of effort/toughness.

I watched a highlight video of his game this morning and he is VERY confident in his shooting. He was pulling up from 3 on fast breaks with no one in front of him and making them

Mack is absolutely garbage on defense. I find myself watching him a lot on defense and am just amazed how bad he is.

To be fair to Mack...everyone else was pretty arse on defense as well, except Herb. And being honest Herb defense dropped off a little bit from his Freshman year.

I have mixed feelings on Herb. While he was our best defensive player, he was probably our worst scorer and most turnover prone player on offense.
I do really like his attitude and think he should be a good leader these next couple of years. He does play with a lot of effort and toughness.
I agree that he regressed from his Freshman to Sophomore season, not sure if he was playing injured last year or what.
I do think that for this team to get to where it’s capable of getting this year we are gonna need for Herb Jones to play well enough on offense to keep him on the floor and not be a liability, because we need his defense.
Nate Oats told the team that if they don’t make shots for him they are not playing. Hopefully Herb spends a lot of time in the gym this offseason improving as a shooter and ball handler.

He didn’t touch me anywhere. He’s really really bad at basketball, and that’s been painfully obvious for 2 seasons. For some reason, I’m the only person that will admit that.
Maybe he touched you, and you liked it? I can’t figure out any other reason you’d have any confidence in this guy whatsoever.
Some people aren’t good at basketball, he’s one of them. Nothing personal, I just don’t want him to play anymore, he’s that bad. If he gets PT, we’re in trouble.

What does Kira think about the situation?
Posted on 5/26/19 at 6:57 pm to CrimsonFever
I can tell you with 99% certainty that Kira Lewis expects to play with Herb Jones next season, and with 100% certainty that he’s pissed about that.

agree 100%
I'm not giving up on anyone that can play D and rebound the way he's capable. I still have hope.

The whole 2017 class regressed last year. Why?......Because of Avery Johnson and Lou Deneen

Absolutely worthless. He basically stole his paychecks. He'll be lucky to find another job outside of high school.
