I doubt they will be very good this year, they are losing their best 5 players and their recruiting class is currently ranked 80th.

UNC claims 1924 and hung a banner. Not saying we need to do exactly that, but I wish we’d at least publicly acknowledge that season exists

Losing their leading scorer for the season before the start of conference play (who also led the team in assists and is top 10 in all time assists at Bama only 2 years into her career) might have played a teeny tiny role in how the season played out.

-Campus is nice
-Oats and the staff are good people and he developed a little bit of a relationship while on the visit
-Oats feels he’s perfect for the offense
-Cole said he feels like Oats is a “relationship guy”. He’s heard a lot about Oats including from some of Oats players (not sure if he meant Buffalo or Bama players).
-Hodgson was the first guy to contact him when he entered the transfer portal
-Cole liked and appreciated that Hodgson came to see him and his parents
-Cole said he’ll probably end up deciding between Bama and UCONN (his UCONN visit will be rescheduled bc he has NBA draft prep next weekend and can’t make it)
-Neither school leads or he would’ve already committed
-Arkansas, Okla St, and Seton Hall also are recruiting him
-He said he could see himself at Alabama bc of the culture that Oats brought from Buffalo to Alabama

Would be great to land him but for some reason I think he ends up at UCONN. Maybe it’s the Hurley connection

I like our chances, I don’t think Oats and Hodgson are gonna be outworked when it comes to recruiting a player and they were on from from the jump when he announced his transfer.
Plus Sexton and Kira are probably gonna be guys that were both taken in the NBA draft and Cole’s main goal is to get to the NBA.
Oats system is really good for a PG to play in as well.

Anyone else think its a good sign that he cancelled his UConn visit for next weekend? I know he said it was for draft reasons, but you would think he already wouldve known about it before his visit to Bama this weekend. There is only about 3 weeks left til its move in day at Alabama, so he is gonna be committing somewhere in the next few weeks.

I might be wrong but I don’t see him playing HS for Hurley sr being that big of a draw on where he goes to college. I think getting to the NBA and playing in a system that fits his style of play best would be bigger factors.

So GOOGLE is saying the final signing period for basketball is from April 17 - May 15. Does that mean we’ll know something from Trendon Watford sometime between now and 2 Wednesday’s from now, or am I misinterpreting the rules?

You don’t technically have to sign. You can just enroll during one of the summer sessions.
