If I were Curry or Duckworth, I’d be more than a little nervous. If Byrne has shown nothing else, he’s shown he’s not afraid to make a change if he feels it necessary. Duckworth took over a dynasty and has it slipping ever so slowly back down the mountain.

Curry took over a disaster of titanic proportions. She has taken us from sucks enough to be a Big Sky cellar dweller to sucks in the SEC levels. This past season was supposed to be our breakout season where we get back in the middle of the league pack and maybe an NCAA bid. Didn’t happen, not even close. So if Curry doesn’t resume the positive direction, I think she’s gone. Duckworth, I’m on the fence about.

So thanks for having balls, Mr. Byrne, and thanks for Nate Oats. Keep up the great work.

So some random guy posted on twitter that Rojas was also in town... Can anybody confirm or is he full of shite?

I've seen a few people on twitter say they've heard he is in town but I haven't seen any confirmation on if he actually is or not.

SEC seems to be pretty wide open next year

Auburn - loses Harper, Brown, and Okeke
Tennessee - loses Schofield, Williams, and probably Bone
Miss St - loses Weatherspoon, Holman, and Perry
Florida - loses Allen, Hudson and Keith Stone
LSU - loses basically everyone

Auburn and Kentucky should still be really good but behind them no one is really standing out.

I see no reason why Alabama can't finish in the top half of the league next year. I'd probably pick us to finish 4th in the conference, preseason.

I will just take looking functional on offense in year 1,actually having inbound plays, and just playing smarter basketball.

We won a basketball natty in the 1929-30 season but we don’t even acknowledge it smh. Went 20-0 (10-0), won the Southern Conference, and was named national champs by the Premo-Porretta Power Poll, which was used to named national champions before the NIT and NCAA tourneys were invented. I know, I know.....that’s nowhere near the same as winning a REAL natty by playing in the ncaa tourney, but it’s something the university should at least acknowledge at halftime of a weekday game or something

Amen to that.

I would love for us to keep the foot on the gas in games we are supposed to win big, was so frustrating last year to be favored in a game by 14 points and the game end up being a nail biter. We ended up losing at least 3 games we were favored big in, and even the ones we won ended up being close most of the time.

Yeah we claim football ones from 25,26,30, and 34........why can’t we just claim this ONE title in basketball?

There was a thread on the SECRant a few years ago by a Kentucky fan asking if Alabama claimed the 1930 championship.

If Bama would have claimed that title, I wonder how different our basketball program would be today. It could have completely changed the perception of Alabama basketball.

Success breeds success. If we would have claimed that one, it might have helped us get one or two more.

If we could look back and say, "we've won 3 national titles at Alabama" then kids would know it's possible. I think it would have helped us a lot. I think it would still help us if we could have built on to it

Except in basketball any pre-tournament era titles are universally looked at as not real. Nobody truly counts them.

Some places may bang a banner for it but no chryno is gonna say someone won the 1923 Premo Title.

Florida will be better than this year. Mike White has several very talented freshmen playing significant minutes and they are his guys. They won’t be Final Four material but I expect upper tier in the league behind Kentucky.

LSU will be good as long as Wade is still handing out strong arse offers. So now that Zona has admitted the NCAA is poking around their program can there be any doubt that they will look into LSU as well?
