Yea had a good buddy who had the triple tear and walked off. He basically never ran the same again.

Not that anyone asked but here is my thought process on the rivalry.
1. When I was young I wanted Auburn to lose anything they ever played...from football to Uno tournaments.
2. As i got older I really got into rivalries like Michigan Ohio State, Texas Nebraska etc when they always seemed to be in the top 5 in football.
3. Started thinking how great it would be for the Iron Bowl to have both teams ranked like that.
4. Ho awesome would it be for Bama and Auburn to one day have top 5 basketball teams playing for the SEC tourny championship.
I just think the rivalry is more enjoyable when both schools are good.
And then we beat them in everything and break their hearts.

I agree, generally I don't root against teams in basketball. I like the league being good, including our rivals.
I don't want Auburn going to Elite 8s and Final 4s......at least not without us haha

I don't mind Auburn doing well, but the thought of them winning a basketball national championship makes me want to jump off of a bridge

Even when they won the Football NC it didnt get me that mad because I knew it was a 1 year wonder because of Newton......this basketball team has staying power under Bruce.

I have witnessed such an event. BJCC in 1985, Alabama vs Auburn in the SEC championship game. Chuck "Rifleman" Person shot us out of the civic center in OT to win that shitshow. Made me as mad as losing the Iron Bowl. Still pisses me off. I definitely consider them inferior to us in basketball (until recently) and it sucks to lose to them. I hope like hell we can catch up.
