They just said on the broadcast that it has been something like 15 years since an 8-8 SEC team was left out.

But being a lifelong Bama basketball fan I have the dreadful ingrained expectation that this is the year the NCAA committee says 'hold my beer'

Yea, I keep waiting for the new bracket predictions to come out after today because I have no feel for the women's bubble.

First time since 1998 they have won 4 straight in conference.

Glad to see the girls going in the right direction finally.

Yep, happy for them. It's been a grind for them the last few years and they've seemed close a bunch of different times.

I’m the same way. I have no feel for what the selection is like for the women’s game. They haven’t been relevant enough to ever worry about that in a long, long time.

Charlie Creme is the guy apparently.

I need to get a life for knowing that.

I mean I look at their resume and think "that looks like a First 4 out resume for the Men"........but then I remember that the entire setup is very different.

So - most ideal results for us SEC Tournament wise down the stretch

Alabama
- Vanderbilt (W)
- @ Missouri (W)
- Alabama finishes 10-8

Tennessee
- @ Kentucky (L)
- Auburn (L)
- Tennessee finishes 8-10

South Carolina
- Mississippi St (L)
- @ Vanderbilt (W)
- South Carolina finishes 10-8

Texas A&M
- @ Auburn (L)
- Arkansas (W)
- Texas A&M finishes 9-9

5. Alabama (10-8) (TB vs USC)
6. South Carolina (10-8)
7. Texas A&M (9-9)
8. Tennessee (8-10)

We'd play the winner of Ole Miss/Georgia (probably) and if we won play Mississippi State.

If we were the 6 seed, we'd play the winner of Arkansas/Missouri vs Vanderbilt and then play LSU.

If we were the 7 seed we'd play Missouri/Arkansas then play Auburn.

Needless to say, the biggest thing is NOT FINISHING #8 OR #9 AND HAVING KENTUCKY UP NEXT LIKE WE DO EVERY YEAR.

5 seed would be great, but i'd also be thrilled with the 6 seed tbh.

I'd literally be thrilled with anything that kept us out of the 8/9 game and playing Kentucky.

I’m not sure I care that much about who we play as long as it isn’t Kentucky

We can beat Auburn, State, LSU and we can lose to them. Which is obviously not a very hot take, especially considering we went 1-1 against all of them.

I think LSU is maybe the worst matchup (big guards give us hell), but there’s not a whole lot in it. State and Auburn have big men that could dominate the game.

But Kentucky in a home game, no thanks. Hell, LSU fans barely make any noise in games in Baton Rouge, much less in Nashville.

And also that Texas A&M and then Kentucky bracket is just hilariously awful.

Those tears of joy would be sweet, somehow I see tears of pain with a matchup vs KY or UF in our 2nd game.

I wouldn't be too worried about Florida. Kentucky is the only team I don't wanna see, unless it's in the championship game.

Where is Florida in this scenario? They're already sitting at 10 wins and own the head to head tiebreaker against us. I don't see a path to the 5 seed unless I'm missing something? They would even win a three-way tiebreaker with us & South Carolina if it came to that.

Yeah we are mathematically eliminated from getting the 5 seed. 6 is the highest we could get.

Is still possible that there could be a logjam and that six teams could all finish 10-8. That would involve an ABSURD amount of absolutely crazy things happening and isn't even worth trying to figure out, but I'll type it anyways. Lol.

Alabama
Florida
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas A&M

Those teams could create a six-way tie for positions 4-9, and I have no idea what order everyone would fall in that group. It would never happen, but it would be interesting nonetheless.
