That’s hypothetical. Injuries happen, you have to suck it up and play.

It's not hard to figure out. We have one senior who is Beetle and I assume we lose probably Kira too and maybe Galin who I'm sure Oats would bring in an upgrade over.
We bring in Rojas, Hawkins, Quinerly, Ambrose, and likely Primo or Ellis.
On paper we should be good and it's easy to tell we would've been good this year without all the injuries, even with the injuries we beat some good teams and were in the hunt in late February. Herb's injury was the final straw.
Excuse me for using factual reasons why we didn't make the tournament and will be good next year instead of saying we are cursed and never will make it again, which is apparently more logical.

You don’t even know who will be on the team next year. So don’t act like you are bringing anything factual. You’re fricking guessing who will be on the team and trying to act like it’s a fact.
So excuse me for pointing out that you are spewing hypothetical bullshite

Well unless we have some unforseen transfers or players try to go pro who certainly won't get drafted it's pretty accurate.
If we have a big transfer I'm sure Oats will bring in someone who is an upgrade, that won't be hard.

Everything you say is hypothetical.

Saying next year will be the same and we wont make the tournament is hypothetical. My prediction is we will easily make the tournament next year and will be really good. Some here have said next year will be more of the same and Oats Is just another Avery/Grant clone.
We will see who is right next year, I’ll still be here. No use arguing about it now.

You sure argue a lot for someone that says they aren’t going to argue about it

I imagine it is hard to coach basketball here with the constant fan pessimism. It forced Grant out when he obviously was a good coach who just needed a couple of more years to learn on the job. He does have his current team ranked in the top 5 after all while we are changing coaches every three years and whining about how we are cursed.
Oats is getting tagged right now by every FOG in Alabama on twitter telling him how he sucks.
Maybe if we can support a coach for once for more than 8 months without turning on him they can get things turned around.

Wow, you think Grant needed more time.

He left on his own because he didn't want to coach here anymore. A lot of our fans suck. Fans stop supporting a coach after 8 months on the job and say "he is just like the last guy, I'm not watching anymore til they show me something".
This coach and team needs support not for people to turn on them like is happening tonight. Until our fans start supporting the Bball program more it's gonna be hard to consistently be good, and Coleman isn't gonna get upgraded.
No coach could get this program turned around in year one with all the injuries we have had.

I’m tired of the excuses(I’m guilty of giving them too). From Now on its “Do or Do Not, their is no try”

I'm not talking about most of the fans in here by the way, most of the fans in here seem loyal. Again tonight in a must win game, Coleman was empty, like it is every year in a must win game.
Hopefully Oats gets us playing really well next year and it builds excitement like Pearl has done at Auburn and we can start filling the seats consistently.
I hope everyone in here can keep supporting the team, I know it's frustrating but to get the program turned around we need positive energy not negative.

Not speaking out of emotion like some are tonight, but this isn’t a Nate Oats problem. This is an Alabama basketball problem. This has happened every year since the late Gottfried days and until that changes, this program will be stuck in the mud
Not sure if he is talking about Coleman being empty tonight or Coleman itself or what. I think we can all agree the Coleman Reno needs to happen ASAP.

This thread was filled with negative energy posts during the last few minutes of the game vs A&M.

I’m not really a basketball fan but somewhat follow it. Wasn’t it expected that Alabama was going to have a kinda rough year? I mean it’s the first year of a new coach. Or are y’all just that jaded to think that this program is “cursed” and it’s an “Alabama thing” more than anything? It’s 2020. As long as you have a good coach who can recruit you can win anywhere.

I think it is mostly just being tired of same song and dance for the last decade no matter who the coach has been. We will get some talented players , start off good to decent with some nice wins, a few head scratching losses to get on the bubble or NCAAT discussion to collapse in Feb with must have/ should win games like last night. Rinse . Repeat . There are several of us in the basketball threads who want us to be good again , only to be disappointed year after year . Having said that , I firmly believe Oats will turn the program around

This is Bama basketball, Bama is a average basketball problem. Has been for almost 30 years, minus 6 or 7 seasons.

I don’t think it’s so much about the expectations for the year as it was the situation we were in last night. We are staring an NCAA berth in the face and go out and lay that egg at home. And there’s no excuse for that loss last night. None. We were by far the more talented team and we were at home.

Our 3 bigs last night had 6pts and 7 rebounds.....fricking Pathetic. And 3 of those points was a last minute desperate 3 by Reese
