I fully expect Lewis to return, and if he does, we lose NOBODY, plus get our injured and transfer next year, too.
Damn, I'd love to get atrue rim protector from the transfer portal in the off season.

Skies the limit if he can get a few skilled bigs to come on board.

Touché. But their asses will be NIT bound in a bit over a month.

I mean it would be slightly disappointing, but considering we had 2 players injured in preseason, JQ ruled ineligible and Herb getting hurt in the middle of conference play...it's not the worse possible outcome

Just look at how much they've progressed and improved. We would've lost this game by 30 last year with Avery

Well what do you want to do about it? Fire Oats midway through his first year? Kick everybody off the team? Or just keep bitching?

Obviously we’re all tired of losing, but we are what we are, and the only way to get better is to keep building and working hard. We have some glaring deficiencies in talent and depth, but there’s nothing that can be done about it this year, no matter how many times you bitch about it. What can be done: keep playing hard, improve, and build a foundation for success.

That’s why I’m still skeptical about next year, especially if Kira leaves. We don’t have a consistently good post player on the roster and we haven’t recruited one either.

Davis has his moments and could turn out to be pretty good with another offseason under Oats

No one can fault the effort or the hustle. The kids play hard for Oats and that’s a testament to him. Would have been easy to mail that one in after the 16-0 start

Look I’m not saying that oats is bad or that we won’t be a tournament team next year. But we aren’t this year. I shouldn’t be so critical, hell these dudes are playing their hearts out. I just get really fricking frustrated at Bama basketball. We are always so close, but let down EVERY time. Damn I wish we would develop a killer instinct.

With all the bad luck with injuries & Quinerly decision it wouldn't be the worst thing to go to the NIT this yr & as a stepping stone possibly winning it.

I do have one complaint. I know Oats very analytical and wants threes as quick as we can get them off. But in certain situations like the end of halves, games, and OT, I’d like to see us slow it down and run some actual plays. Have a few plays that we can go to in those situations and not just continue to make one pass and jack up a 3.

Guys our options are to let average to above average 3 point shooters take open 3s (which most were) or attack the middle of a zone that is collapsing on you and had an elite rim protector on the back end. On top of that we have NO bigs that you can trust the guard to drop the ball off to when they get doubled at the rim. The options on a dribble drive with a rim protector big for this team are AWFUL.

Sign me up for taking volume open 3s all day long.

This is precisely the mindset that Bama basketball puts you in that I despise. Every year it’s this same song. We are doomed to never achieve greatness in college basketball and if I could only accept that, I’d enjoy the games much more. I think seeing what it’s like to win football championships like it’s making toast has ruined Alabama basketball for me. Apples and oranges, for sure.

We broke the SEC record for three point attempts in a game.

I'm all for it too. Especially as open as they were leaving us most of the game.

Yep, I mean the other options are awful. They don't change the way Auburn defends, either, so you are just doing an inefficient thing to say you tried a more "normal" thing. Frick that.

Dude, I didn’t expect a close game and when it started 16-0, I didn’t even keep up with the game anymore. Just turned off everything that would notify me. To come back and see we took those bastards to OT in their house despite the usual and expected 3 to 1 discrepancy in free throws is so tantalizingly close. And then to hear our bigs sucked and got blown out on the boards, man we are gonna be a dangerous team if and when we put all the pieces together.

I’ll be honest, I love this team’s heart and buyin and effort. But as far as basketball IQ goes, our team is as dumb as a box of rocks and they play that way. Yeah, that’s cruel and heartless but play some smart basketball and I’ll change my tune. Quit making the same dumb mistakes. We cleaned up the turnovers, so we forget how to rebound. Crash the boards and we can’t take care of the ball. Then there’s the nights when we do several things really bad and several really good all at once. Like tonight, Kira gets a triple double, we jack up 59 from behind the arc and we lose because we don’t rebound the mother fricking basketball.

Frustrating doesn’t even begin to describe it.

I'm in a minority but 1st time I felt alright after an AU loss.
So proud of our guys as AU had to earn it on their court.

Just wonder if we will have anything left in the tank Saturday. Back to back tough overtime games that were very taxing, especially tonight

Have some patience vuvuzela. Oats doesn't have the over all horses right now but he will with the talent he's going to bring in.Much better seasons ahead & these SEC coaches know that Bama has a diamond in the rough with Oats.

Seemed like their game plan was to keep us from driving, which is a pretty stupid game-plan against us. Without Herb Kira is pretty much the only one of the team who is good at it.

I feel great about it. I mean losing sucks and we were really close to totally flipping our resume around, but more importantly our guys followed up on coming back and finding a way in Athens by absolutely refusing to die against a really good team in a hostile environment.

The next step is to bring that same attitude and effort on Saturday and find a way to get a win.

Yea it was a little strange. They had their wing defenders in no man's land having to defend the wing and corner 3 man. We did a pretty great job of manipulating them in that 2 on 1 situation too. We didn't panic much.
