I had 2k7 I think. It was the year we were suppose to be really good with Ron Steele and ended up choking away a 13-1 start and going to the NIT.
But anyways, I found the 2k version much tougher to shoot the basketball than the EA version

It was tougher, but it always had more depth to it. The week-to-week recaps with Gumbell owned me. A modern day version of this game would generate so much money.

MEDIA ADVISORY: Men’s Basketball Open Practice and Media Availability on Thursday Afternoon
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama men’s basketball head coach Nate Oats will open practice to the media on Thursday, Oct. 31. Following the open practice viewing, coach Oats, along with freshman Jaden Shackelford and junior Herbert Jones, will be made available to meet with media on the floor of the basketball practice gym.
Media who are interested in attending the media viewing are asked to meet in the Coleman Coliseum media room no later than 12:15 p.m. CT. A member of the athletics communications staff will then escort media to the main floor. Once allowed into the facility, media in attendance will be able to film/watch the final approximately 20 minutes of practice. Per policy, no live video or live tweeting may take place during the viewing session.
Oats and the student-athletes will preview Tuesday night’s season-opening contest vs. Penn, which is slated for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Promotions surrounding Oats’ coaching debut at UA include $5 tickets and a “Ball ‘N Oats” t-shirt giveaway while supplies last.

I don't know how much of Alabama's noncon schedule was Nate Oats' doing, given he just got the job, but if he had a say in at least 60% of it, color me impressed. Bama didn't make the NCAAs last season, yet the Tide is not going to take it easy on themselves. Only two sub-200 opponents and there's a we-ain't-scurred treble of roadies against Rhode Island, Penn State and Samford. Top opponent is UNC in the Bahamas.

We are tied for 8th toughest non conference schedule in the country according to Matt Norlander of CBS.

Which is why I am very optimistic about the programs future. He seems like a guy that will get our guys prepared and be in contention when it’s tourney time.

My heart believes he is the Coach that will take us to heights we haven’t been to. My Abused Bama Basketball brain is telling to not buy it until it happens.

So a little troubling news...
Reese didnt practice today and is nursing a hip injury. If he can’t go Tuesday Herb is the only guy we got at the 4. Unless we go real small and put Petty there

He's expected to he okay. Might not be 100% Tuesday.

Not gonna lie, I'm way more excited for our opener against Penn than I am for the LSU game. I'm ready to see what Oats can do.

Notes from Alabama Practice:
• 15 second shot clock during scrimmage.
• Herb Jones hesitant but efficient from 3.
• Alex Reese held out of scrimmage with hip injury, expected to be close to 100% by Tuesday.

Nate Oats on Herbert Jones: "Herb's overall, two-way offense and defense play is at an elite level. Now, if he can really start making shots ... if he adds that dimension to it, he's going to be one of the better players in the country, in my opinion."

Nate Oats: "Kira (Lewis) is as skilled as any kid I've coached offensively. We're just trying to get him to be better defensively. He's coming, he's working at it. I mean, he's young. He just turned 18. He's still a young kid."

Nate Oats on #Alabama's season-opening opponent, Penn: "They remind me a little bit of my Buffalo team in the fact that they know they can walk in and beat a high major on a high-major floor, so we've got our hands full in Game 1. It's good for our guys, though."
