Someone on BOL posted that they read elsewhere that Hale failed a drug test. That would make sense as to why Johnson is being so noncommittal.

I didn't post it earlier, but that's my fear. He flunked a test and they're waiting on the results of a second confirmation test.
I really like what Avery's doing, but without Ingram AND Hale this team simply doesn't have the scorers to make any postseason. Retin simply can't do it all.

According to ESPN, our RPI is currently 15, and strength of schedule is 47

I fear the same. Hopefully last night gave Jimmy, Justin and Brandon enough confidence that they can build off of. Even with them stepping up, not having Hale is a hard to over come.

It just makes my disdain for Hale grow that much more. He's always had a bad attitude on the court, so failing a drug test during the season would be a fitting thing from the selfish demeanor he usually shows out there.

Hale is the equivalent to DJ Hall. How fricking selfish can you be.

Yep, I fear this will be the turn right here. Only other guy we have to compliment Retin is Edwards, and he is simply too streaky. I am so pissed right now. This season was going so great.

It seems like after having such a shitty sophomore campaign that he would have humbled himself

I'm sure he'll be back before conference play at the latest. It just makes the Oregon game that much harder if he doesn't play.

Sorry, still early in the morning and mad. I need to melt like a bitch.
Oh well, Taylor had his 3rd career double-double and that's good.

I swear the basketball program is cursed. Whenever something looks like its going to go good something comes up. Remember ray George not qualifying that year...or jamario Davidson not playing well due to losing his girlfriend in a car accident. Or kids transferring mid season...

The Hale drama will give us a good look at how Avery handles situations like this. Will this be Tony Mitchell 2.0?
Also, Retin appears to be the player we all hoped Releford would be. It's bold, but he could be SEC player of the year if this team stays competitive.

If he failed a NCAA test, he's done for a year.

Stop it...that kid from LSU has that locked up

I thought each school gets to handle how positive drug tests are dealt with? I wouldn't think the NCAA would test until the tournament like how they busted McGary at Michigan a couple years ago.

I would love it, but Ben Simmons won that before he even took a step onto the court.

Retin is explosive going to the basket, a far better outside shooter, and a better defender.
He's better than Releford, who in my opinion never progressed much after his sophomore year.
And Simmons is no doubt one of the best players in the conference, but if LSU is a below .500 team, there will be competition for the award.
