I don't really know if we need Coleman. With Ingram and Avery Jr., I wouldn't care if Coleman left. Maybe I'm just pissy though

This brought tears to my eyes....Obasohan posted this message on Twitter after the game tonight. He's definitely my favorite player I've ever watched.

Breaks my heart that he went out like this. He seems like a good person. He has an incredible future ahead of him, no matter whether it's basketball or or a regular career.

I'd be extremely bummed if Coleman were to leave. I still have hope he can turn out to be pretty good. I also don't expect much of anything from AJ Jr.

We just imploded at the end of the season.

I did. It was like the other team came over and took turns kicking me in the balls, then Bama came over for their turn and kicked me all over the legs because they can't do anything right.

Yeah I understand that. We looked like we didn't even wanna be out there today. They had a chance to win an NIT championship in their first year with Avery, or at least make a run and try to get to MSG, but nope. I don't think the mindset is right with some of these players. Coach Avery said yesterday there was a little scuffle at practice. Then Nick King said on Periscope he almost got kicked off the team (jokingly said it while laughing). Then he said but if I get in a real fight, y'all would know. He later deleted the video. It sounds like King got in an argument with someone and was trying to set them straight. King has that confidence about him that Retin has. He's gonna be a great player and leader next year I think.

Yes he is

My last post on this season. Avery is da man but he has to take part of the blame for how the team played the last month. We gave him a lot of praise for those big wins that got this team on the bubble. Them boom, it nose dived.

Coleman can be a really good player if he just finds consistency. Last night, he looked like our only scoring threat from the perimeter. I still have high hopes for him because he is a great dribbler and can be a good at the jump shot.

Gotta remember, Releford wasn't as great of a shooter from beyond the arc until his junior year. But he did make up for it because he knew how to get the ball into the rim. Coleman's specialty is going in the paint then dishing it out to say the high key.

JC isn't built to play the type of game we have had to adjust to. He's a guy that needs to get out and run at top end speed every trip. You could see it in one of the possessions late last night. He got a rebound and took off, only to see his 4 teammates dragassing up the court.
I expect to see a much more uptempo team next season, and I think that will help JC shine. But if we have to play slow ball again, no....

Coach has got some tough decisions to make this off-season. Right now there are 3 or 4 guys on the current roster who quite possibly/probably will never be at the level we need them to be to play winning basketball. We desperately need better talent and a tougher minded team.

Taylor, Kessens, Hale are 3 off the top of my head that should be exploring other options than basketball at Alabama. Possibly 1 or 2 others. Coach has definitely got his work cut out for him on the recruiting trail.

I wish we'd played better, but I ain't even mad. Not one little bit.

I expected to have a year like Auburn's. Instead, we flirted with the dance until the last week of the season.

I love the effort (most of)these guys put out. I love the fact that it looks like we could have a legit big man again.

I mostly love that we've got hope. The talent loss going into next year isn't nearly as severe as what CAJ dealt with this season. Losing Retin hurts, sure but in exchange we get Ingram and King before a new recruit so much as sets foot inside Coleman. We'll be better next year. A LOT better. Book it.

That's the problem though. Everyone wants the roster to be blown up, but unless you have capable guys replacing them, you're hurting yourself by losing bodies. Unless we are going the transfer route, the remaining freshmen/JUCO guys that haven't signed won't be any better other than a few exceptions. Hopefully we hit a home run with the transfer market though.

We really only had two guys that could create their own shot this year - Retin and Coleman. And Coleman really can't get a shot off in the lane. Hale, Edwards, and Norris turned the ball over a LOT when they tried to drive. And our fast breaks were terrible. And there was no consistent scorer inside either. I like Hall, and Taylor improved this year, but they still have a ways to go on offense.

Overall, I think more than anything we just lacked skill. The good news is I think we improve at every position next year, except the #2 guard.

Well that sucks... I wish people in Tuscaloosa had deep pockets like the people at
Baylor......................... You're right, it must be over.........

It can't be just money though. If it were, we could match or double what everyone else is offering.

Hall and Taylor absolutely have to develop some inside game. We can't make the tournament next year without a threat in the paint.

I'm hoping Key can get in here and show he can be a good midrange shooter. King too. It sucks seeing every time we get a 2nd chance opportunity, they bring it out to either the perimeter or try to force it into basket and miss. Even Creighton showed they can bank down mid-range shots on us last night when they got an open look.

I had hopes Norris could do that, but he is not nearly as good with the ball and only a spot up shooter.

And he isn't good at that. He had one great game shooting and one great game rebounding. You have to be able to produce more than that.
