I noticed they had him outside trapping Retin a bunch, even with 4 fouls.
That's an easy way for him to pick up his 5th, but we NEVER tried to exploit it.

Palm had us as an 8 seed. Some of the responses in here are a bit melodramatic. It was a terrible loss, but the season isn't even remotely over

We still easily could get in the tournament. I suspect wel'll still be in a lot of brackets (frick lunardi and his dipshit BPI). The problem is this team always has to be on. We frick around and we can lose to almost anyone. Arkansas could beat us. Even Auburn could beat us.

Random thought, but I think it was the 2004-2005 season that was the last time we were just playing for a seed at this point in the year (as in we were clearly going to make the tournament). For frick's sake.

We just don't have any margin for error guys, it is what it is. We could have this same thing happen vs Auburn or Arkansas and certainly at Georgia.

It's just that much tougher. I'm afraid of what might happen now. Hopefully Avery can keep their eyes on the prize.

Yeah, I think the sky is falling posts in reference to just this game are a bit much, but it's going to be a slog, and if we get to the tournament it's because our guys figured a way to grind it out.
I thought we looked a bit tight today (like it dawned on us all of a sudden that we were absolutely playing for something). Will be interesting to see how we come out versus Kentucky, if we're a bit looser and just play (I don't really think it will matter in the end in the sense that a win is a huge ask, but a good performance could help us get back on track)

I'm extremely happy with the season. I'm just very disappointed with how we performed today. I know all teams have these games, but we really couldn't afford it. No matter how the rest of the season goes, I'll be happy, unless they just quit. I really don't think this team will quit.

Bama wasn't winning out for the rest of the season before today.
Now it's time to refocus.
Bama has the capability to win each remaining game, sans Kentucky. And hell, even they lost some games they shouldn't.
Just get it together and let's put together another little winning streak.

Honestly, it just sucks that we pulled off the impossible by winning all 3 games in the toughest 3 game stretch of the season and then are tossed what most would consider an easy win at home and lose. That negates at least one of those wins. The sky isn't falling, but we have very little room for error.

Who do we need to win tonight? Texas A&M or Kentucky?
Posted on 2/20/16 at 6:52 pm to Bamafan15
We are 16-10 (7-7) and here's our remaining schedule:
at Kentucky
vs Auburn
vs Arkansas
at Georgia
If we win all but UK we would be 19-11 (10-8) going into the SEC tourney. Win one and then probably lose one in the next round and we'll finish with a 20-12 (10-8) record. That has to put us in the tourney right?

A&M is up 3 over UK with 2 minutes left. Who do we want to win?

I say A&M winning is best. UK was good no matter what and will stay ranked. This helps legitimize A&M.

Of course #19 Notre Dame loses to Georgia Tech to top it all off....

After the loss, Lunardi said we need to AT LEAST go 2-2 the rest of the way and win one, maybe 2 in the SEC tourney to secure an NCAA bid. It sounds like he's agreeing with what we've been saying. Go 3-1, win 1 in the SEC tourney and were in. Go 2-2, win 2 in the SEC tourney, were in. I think even if we go 3-1 and lose the first game there's still a shot depending on what the other bubble teams do. After all the panicking our fans did today (including me), I think we're in good position to make the NCAA tourney, BUT either way, I'm happy with what this year's team has been able to accomplish. RTR! #BuckleUp
