I personally didn't have any problems with the STYLE of offense we were running last night.
People comparing this O to Grant are experiencing some revisionist history. I'm not saying it has been superior, but it isn't the same. We had some passes into the low block that never would have happened under Grant. This team doesn't have anyone who can finish at the rim consistently (and I'm not just talking about our bigs). Most years, Grant had that, and we were still garbage.

This. The offense was fine, but we couldn't hit open threes, FTs, layups, and even our best dunker missed a wide-open dunk. None of that is Avery's fault. However, he should know better than to get a Tech in the juncture of the game that he did. I've heard it wasn't completely legitimate though and that he just said "call it both ways".

The problem is we have a team full of role players with no one we can rely on to score when things get tough. Unless someone steps it up, I'd look for an NIT bid. Though he's struggled, Nick King still looks like he has the most potential to be a dominant scorer. We'll need him to step up if we want a chance at the NCAAT.

I agree, Eric. This is clearly not AG's offense.

We push the ball at times, we take open shots, we run some set plays(especially out of timeouts).

I said it last night after the loss, but we missed a lot of opportunities. We missed a lot of open shots, front ends of 1 & 1's, and layups. Key, Collins, & Hall all missed from point blank.

I think we rebounded well, especially on the offensive end. We looked good at times, but just couldn't seem to get over the hump and go on any long runs.

It was definitely frustrating to watch, but there were silver linings. This team can play a lot better just by cleaning up some simple things.

Ingram had a beautiful no look over shoulder pass to Donta and he missed wide open dunk.

Hoping the team can improve. 2-2 is not a very good start to the season.

Don't worry, yall will be 3-2 tomorrow. We're so bad. the BYU game was a fricking 4 point game with 10 minutes left and we lost by 30.

Do you have any decent bigs?

Our two centers combined stats last night(with 16 min left in the game) 2 points 2 boards 10 fouls.

What happened to St. Louis? Weren't they like a five seed two years ago?

yep. and a 4 seed the year before that. Jim Crews is what happened. worst coach in any sport at any level I've ever seen.

I didn't expect to be so down on Bama basketball so soon after signing day.

They had Rick Majerus at the helm back then. Guy was an absurdly good coach

haha we're going through the same phase. Well, except we knew we would be garbage this year. Future is looking really bright at least.

Oregon almost lost to Tennessee today. Went into OT and won 69-64. Oregon has looked terrible so far and now they're 3-2. Texas hasn't looked good either and they're losing to Colorado right now. Our game against those 2 teams are gonna be interesting being that us and them are playing bad right now. Maybe we can catch one of them off guard early this year and then they'll go on to have a great year and it'll look good on our resume. This is just wishful thinking but it's not out of the question.

Yeah they did. That's why I'm confused as to what to expect from them. Tennessee is terrible and Oregon barely beat them. But then they destroy Valpo who is decent.

Maybe flying out to Hawaii had Oregon tired or something

I'm not giving up on the season (way too early for that), but I am highly disgusted so far. I'm holding out hope that we can get it together.

I'm not going to name anyone specifically, but we appear to have some dumbasses on our team. Some of the mistakes we make are amazing.

Most of the players making the stupid mistakes are the ones Grant brought here. I guess it's hard to get his bad habits out of the players. Hale acts like he doesn't wanna be here, Riley plays hard but will airball shots and go up for a layup out of control and have no chance at making a shot, Hall missed that wide open dunk last night, and Taylor can't hit anything. Just little things like that will cost u.

If we could shoot FTs then we may be undefeated right now. Idk why that's not one of the top priorities in practice.

Hale's body language just makes me not like him. Poor Riley, when he tries to get to the rim, it's just ugly all of the way around

I can't be mad at Riley tho bc it seems like he's giving it his all, especially on defense. He just takes wild shots

Probably gonna skip out on watching tonight, and watch some local HS guys who look like they care about winning or losing.

Hopefully Bama can turn it around tonight
