I think Avery has been a great hire and I love him being in Tuscaloosa. My only secret fear deep down is that he still hears the siren song of the NBA and if he's successful for us, will parlay that into another shot at the big leagues.

I think we will be just fine if he wins well enough here to attract another NBA team.

I just wish we had some kind of news for next year like recruiting, potential transfers we may go after, scheduling, preseason tourneys....really anything like that

Alabama just announced they won't be charging students for NIT tickets as previously reported. First 500 students get free tickets

Ron Higgins on HC possibilities at LSU. All three of these names would be great hires.

Scott Drew would be a really solid hire IMHO. He'd sign tons of players and they'd be a consistent 20+ win team. He'd be able to tap into the same recruiting pipelines he does now at Baylor.

Kermit Davis is a very good coach, but I'd be nervous that he is a typical solid mid-major coach who flounders in a big league.

Musselman has done a solid job at Nevada the last two years. Not sure what his strengths and weaknesses are as a college coach. He also has almost no experience in the East/South other than his 1 year as an assistant at LSU in 2015.

Yeah and it would've been worse had we charged money for the student tickets. Thank goodness it was changed. I think Greg Byrne is the one who made the call. Everyone was tagging him on twitter yesterday complaining about it costing and I'm sure he saw it bc he's pretty active on twitter

I really try to listen to Ryan Fowler on "The Game" here in T-Town, but I can't stand one segment of it. Guy blows off anything that's not football related. It's all about what Nick Saban would do, talking bad about Lane Kiffin, and Alabama football. Kind of annoying.

That's what I can't stand about the media in Alabama and really the national media when it comes to Alabama sports. Everything is about Alabama football. The whole entire time Alabama-Kentucky was on Dick Vitale was running his mouth about Saban. Every time someone on our team did something good, "Ohhhhh I'm sure Nick Saban would love that! Man, what a legend he is in Tuscaloosa." Well yeah he is a legend but you don't have to mention him every 30 seconds during our basketball game when our program is trying to get out of the football programs shadow. Then like you said, the local media is where it starts and they don't change anything. "Let's talk about football even though Alabama basketball is in the semis of the sec basketball tourney". They rather talk about Lane Kiffin and what they expect of him at FAU than talk about our basketball team. Makes me sick.

2 of Oregon's 5 starters came from Canada, FWIW, including the Brooks kid that is phenomenal.

Ryan Fowler is the local equivalent of Cowherd. I like most the tide 102.9 shows, but I'm not much of fan of his particularly outside of football season.

I'm hopeful for the NIT, but I think our guys really wanted to make the big dance. I wouldn't be surprised if we come out flat especially since this crowd won't good

Yea, a lot of talented young players in college and the NBA from Canada

- Andrew Wiggins
- Cory Joseph
- Kelly Olynyk
- Jamal Murray
- Dwight Powell
- Tristan Thompson
- Thon Maker
- Dillon Brooks (Oregon)
- Justin Jackson (Maryland)

CBI is the basketball equivalent of a school having to pay for a Vulcan tour in order to play in the the Birmingham Bowl. And then having to clean up Legion Field afterwards.

We always think of Collin Sexton as the big trash talker for next year's team (which he is), but I think a lot of y'all are overlooking the trash talking Daniel Giddens does. This dude will dunk, flex, and then trash talk in your face . Also, Petty isn't much of a trash talker, but he does get pretty hyped on the court and will try to pump up the crowd and he'll stare down people after dunks as well. Those 3 guys are going to bring a killer mentality to the court. Will be amazing!

I love the Gary Harris show, but Fowler's show is just too much some times.
