Alabama Opens Play at 2022 SEC Softball Tournament Thursday as No. 2 Seed
The Crimson Tide will face the winner of Wednesday’s game between Missouri and Auburn
Alabama enters the 2022 SEC Softball Tournament as the No. 2 overall seed, earning a first-round bye before opening play on Thursday, May 12 at 1:30 p.m. CT live on the SEC Network against the winner of Wednesday's matchup between Missouri and Auburn.
Action at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla., begins Tuesday, May 10 and continues through the championship game on Saturday, May 14. Seventh-seed Missouri and 10th-seed Auburn will play Wednesday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. CT live on SEC Network with the winner advancing to face the Crimson Tide the following day. The winner of that game will advance to face either Tennessee, LSU or Mississippi State in the semifinals for a chance to advance to the SEC Tournament Championship on Saturday.
Alabama owns a 44-26 (.629) all-time record in the SEC Tournament, including a 40-23 (.635) mark under Head Coach Patrick Murphy. The Crimson Tide have won six tournament titles, doing so in 1998, 2003, 2005, 2010, 2012 and 2022. Alabama's 2005 SEC Tournament title came in Gainesville, Fla., the only time prior to this season Florida has served as host for the tournament.

Info on the regional and super regional tournament for those who may be interested. Season ticket holders have until 5 pm on May 15th to request tix. Any remaining tix will go on sale to the general public on May 16th.

Montana Fouts Closes Regular Season as SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week
The senior earned two wins against 23rd-ranked Missouri, striking out 26 over 17.2 innings
In the final set of weekly softball awards from the Southeastern Conference this season, Alabama senior Montana Fouts collected her fourth SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week accolade Tuesday after posting a pair of wins last weekend in Tuscaloosa.
Fouts earned a pair of wins and appeared in all three games last weekend to guide the Crimson Tide to a series win over 23rd-ranked Missouri. She held the Tigers to just four runs, three earned, over 17.2 innings pitched and struck out 26 batters as opposed to just six walks. Only two of the 12 hits allowed went for extra bases. She posted her 14th game with double-digit strikeouts on Friday, fanning 14 batters.
The weekly award is Fouts' fourth of the season, previously winning back-to-back awards on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 and a third on April 19. She is the only player to win more than two SEC weekly awards this year. It also matches her total of four from last season.
It is the 13th weekly award of her career, including four Freshman of the Week honors in 2019 and eight previous Pitcher of the Week awards during her four-year career. It is the fifth Pitcher of the Week this year for the Crimson Tide with Lexi Kilfoyl also winning on April 5 following her perfect game against Georgia. Alabama pitchers have now won a combined 50 SEC Pitcher of the Week awards all-time.

Alabama Places Four on 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team
Four Alabama softball players were selected to the 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District softball team, including Montana Fouts, Kat Grill, Jenna Johnson and Kaylee Tow.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District distinction is the fourth-straight for Tow, second for Fouts and first for Grill and Johnson. The slate increases Alabama softball's all-time total to 60 accolades, including multiple honorees in each of the last seven seasons.
With their selection, the four advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America voting, with Division 1 winners to be announced June 7.

Yeah, I'm stuck on the SECN "Your Event is About to Begin Please Stand By" screen trying to stream that game at work.
I also noticed the Bama Softball Twitter account turned off the ability to comment on tweets. I wonder if some @ssholes were leaving pissy comments
