Montana Fouts Collects Third SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week Award
Alabama senior Montana Fouts was named the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season following a 3-0 weekend against Mississippi State.
Fouts earned the win in all three games last weekend against the Bulldogs, allowing just one run over 14.1 innings pitched. She struck out 23 batters as opposed to six hits and four walks. Games one and three were a pair of complete-game victories, posting double-digit strikeouts in each. Saturday's win to complete the series sweep was Fouts' fourth solo shutout of the season.
The weekly award is the Fouts' third of the season, previously winning back-to-back awards on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28, and the 12th of her career with four Freshman of the Week honors in 2019 and seven prior Pitcher of the Week awards during her four-year career. It is the fourth Pitcher of the Week this year for the Crimson Tide with Lexi Kilfoyl also winning on April 5. Alabama pitchers have now won a combined 49 SEC Pitcher of the Week awards all-time.

Softball Takes Both Games of Tuesday Doubleheader vs. North Alabama and Alcorn State
Alabama softball won both games of its Tuesday doubleheader at Rhoads Stadium, posting wins over North Alabama and Alcorn State.
Alabama (38-6) started the day with a 6-1 win over North Alabama (30-12) before posting a 4-0 shutout over Alcorn State (15-25) in the second game. The Crimson Tide threw three pitchers between the two games, allowing just one run on five hits over 14.0 innings pitched with Jaala Torrence (6-1) and Lexi Kilfoyl (9-2) coming away with wins. Aubrey Barnhart went a combined 3-for-5 on the day while fellow freshman Kali Heivilin hit her first career home run in game two against the Lady Braves.

Terrible loss. Analogous to the Bama/UGA basketball game. And a costly loss too - likely cost Bama a shot at the regular season SEC title. Thought the ladies would go out there and take care of business with so much on the line. Hope Montana finds her groove going into post season and hope the Prange to Tow thing gets worked out. Soon.

Depends on who we match with in the Supers this team could be seeing another Hawaii type loss in the SR because we just don't have a dominant pitcher and the offense is not consistent enough.
