That's an Aiden Sherrell quote.

2024 four-star point guard Jase Richardson talks recruitment ahead of list cut

Jase Richardson ranks as the No. 54 overall prospect in the 2024 class and he has been a priority recruit for schools across the country.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard and the son of Jason Richardson, caught up with 247Sports to break down the latest in his recruitment ahead of a looming list cut.

"Recruiting has been going good," said the four-star guard. "I have been hearing from most of the same schools as of late, they are recruiting me, trying to get me on campus and trying to get my commitment.”

The schools he has consistently been hearing from over the last few months include Michigan State, Alabama, Kansas, Arkansas, Stanford and Colorado.

He has taken one official to Michigan State and one unofficial to Stanford, which he talked about, and the next steps in his recruitment with visits and a timeframe for a decision.

Alabama: “I have been talking to coach Oats and he has been telling me he is getting some good assistants and getting some new guys, trying to pitch me and get me there.

Arkansas: "They are on it 24/7. I am hearing from a coach every day, they’re relentless in the recruiting process and they’re good coaches."

Colorado: “coach ray checks up on me and we have good conversations. He tells me they’re getting a new great recruiting class next year and pitching that to me as well.”

Kansas: "Seeing what they have been doing the past two years, winning a National Championship last year and having a top team this year. It’s great history they have, great coaching staff, great fan base. I love the school there."

Michigan State: "I have just been talking to coach Izzo, coach Montgomery basically every day. They’re just checking on how I am doing, how my family is doing and just trying to get me with the new recruits they got and have me talk to them too.”

Stanford: “The coaching staff and the team are like a family out there. Everybody backs them, the alumni, the team, they’re all one big family.”

The next step in his recruitment is to cut his list and then follow it up with some visits in the summer.

"I will probably cut my list down after the second or third session, in the next two to three weeks," he said.

“I am going to try to see what I can do this summer," he added on taking visits. "I am going to try to get to Stanford again. I loved my unofficial there and am going to try to do an official and then probably Kansas."

After taking his visits and completing his final summer of AAU basketball, he will go into decision mode.

“I will try making my decision probably in October," he said.

not that big a deal really. mack probably understood the minutes would be much harder to find here and wanted a bigger role. plenty of options still out there.

Love how that’s out there and we haven’t even officially announced Pannone, right?

I would imagine it has a lot more to do with touches than minutes. The 4 right now is pretty wide open here.

He plays center. He is probably gonna be SC’s starting center next year, its the best fit for him.

We’ve got our eyes on some other guys for the 4, Sherrell most likely will be our main guy at the 4 next year.

If Grant Nelson is hitting the portal like some people are hinting he will, I'd be all over that.

The potential he has is crazy.

He could play multiple positions if he continues to work on his handles.
