I imagine there will be a tornado or hurricane between now and the end of October so plenty of opportunity for charity events

#Alabama basketball forward Brandon Miller (@brandmillerr) has gained 6.5 pounds since getting to campus this summer, per strength coach Henry Barrera’s Instagram (@hoopdiaries).

I hope Brandon gains ten more pounds before the season starts that way he'll be able to handle the physicality throughout the season.

Physically impossible to naturally gain 10 pounds of muscle in that short of a span. If he puts on 10 lbs of fat that would be extremely detrimental to him and the team.

We play at a breakneck pace, consistently sprinting up and down the court. You have to be a cardio freak, and quickly adding 10 lbs by going on a caloric surplus, while having to abstain from cardio would be the worst possible decision he, or the staff could make.

He’s in ridiculous shape, body fat % went down AND he gained real muscle mass. Look at his fricking delt’s too. Ideal frame for an athlete his size

His work ethic is showing already. Couldn’t be more excited to see him play

Took a look at Henry Barrera's IG and found this. Pretty cool clip of Chuck altering a shot at the rim and then running the floor and getting over 15 MPH to finish the break with a dunk.

Our @kinexonsports LPS Basketball Platform has been BIG TIME in helping us look at the game from another perspective.

Coming up on the end of Summer training with @alabamambb Been a blast working with @cwhsenior to build out a model that layers data to help us BUILD+REBUILD.

@kinexonsports has given us another layer of data on the court.
@firstbeat_technologies has been a staple for me over the last 8 years for internal metrics.

Although a Max Vertical Jump is an output number we’ve taken the Summer to dig a little deeper using @hawkindynamics to get to know our guys a little better. That said, @bigfreakk2 was tops today.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with his frame for his play style. He's thin, but he's not scrawny. You wouldn't want a guy like him to get too big.

Sounds like Barrera comes from the same S&C school of thought as Ballou and Rhea.

We want him to naturally get bigger and stronger over time. Adding 10 lbs in 2 months would only give him a belly

Auburn’s Israel trip could be cut short.

Auburn is in Tel Aviv. They shouldn’t be in harm’s way, but are within the range of population that’s being told not to gather, so playing basketball games seems less than ideal.

Holy crap that is horrifying. Dudes over there just trying to play some hoops on the trip of a lifetime. Absolutely brutal. Hopefully they can stay safely and play.

Would be awesome if they could somehow meet us in Paris or Barcelona and play a game against us on one of our off days of the trip.

ETA: Alabama vs Auburn in Barcelona of all places would be cool as hell - especially if it was televised.

I’ve always thought the iron bowl should be played in the colosseum and fill the stands with gumps

This makes me think of one thing:

Nine years ago, Nate Oats was a HS coach in Michigan.

On Thanksgiving Night, he'll go toe-to-toe with Tom Izzo when Alabama faces Michigan State in the first round of the PK85.

America!

Only 13 Tuscaloosa games scheduled so far.

You have to figure at least 2 more. There hasn't been less than 15 in Coleman in a non-covid year in awhile.

On the video they just posted to the basketball Twitter one of the guys said they were going to a soccer game in Spain. That's pretty awesome.

FC Barcelona plays an exhibition match against Pumas (Mexico) on Sunday. Guys play Spain Monday, so I'd guess that's it.
