That whole ball family are clowns... Especially lavar, biggest attention whore ive ever seen... Said one of his sons were as good as Jordan , that was when i had enough. Their act wore thin really quick. Plus none of them knew what defense was.
Lavar said he was better than Jordan, he was trolling. Obviously. Lonzo is also a great defender for a guard. Lamelo won ROTY. Their whole family is multi millionaires.

Lavar Ball was drawing attention to them by talking crazy and it worked.

2015-2016 Chino Hills High School Basketball Team...go check them out on YouTube.

The Ball Brothers were never beaten when they've played together.

Sounds good but I'm kinda impressed with our new strength and conditioning coach the most.

I think he will be a little bit different from what we are accustomed to.

I think this team is put together well, miller is a stud... And all about winning, as are bradley and griffin . Welch is a big add along with sears. Much rather discuss our program than an egomaniac self promoting family

With all this talk about Balls, you'd think this was an Aggy board.

It all depends on defense. If we are top 30 nationally on that side we will be very very good. Oats will score points. We couldn’t shoot and turned it over nonstop last year and we’re still the 16th best offense in America

I loved what he said about Clowney but then I remembered all the glowing things he said about Ambrose and how it was going to be hard to keep him off the court and we see how that turned out during his 2 years here.

When we signed Ambrose and the best things Oats said about him was that he was "high character" and a "gym rat" I knew we were in trouble.

quote:

"Keon is a long, athletic skilled wing player that is capable of playing multiple positions on the floor," Oats said. "He's a gym rat that has significantly improved his skill level in the last couple years and we anticipate that to continue. He's a terrific young man with high character that's going to add a lot to our culture we're building here. We've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him and his mother Michelle through the recruiting process. We are ecstatic that he is joining our family and can't wait to get him here as a part of the University of Alabama men's basketball program."

University of Alabama self-reports 12 minor NCAA violations

The University of Alabama’s athletic department self-reported 12 separate Level 2 and 3 NCAA violations from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, according to a violations summary posted on the school’s athletics website on Friday. Six different sports reported violations, including multiple minor infractions by the UA men’s basketball, track and field and soccer programs.

The Crimson Tide football team, however, did not self-report any violations.

Below is a full list of Alabama’s minor NCAA violations and the corrective actions taken.

quote:

2. Sport: Men’s basketball (8/18/21)

Summary: The institution hired an individual as a football strength and conditioning coach who triggered IAWP (individual associated with a prospective student-athlete) status for a prospective men's basketball student-athlete upon his full-time enrollment.

Corrective actions taken: 1. Declared the student-athlete ineligible and sought reinstatement.

quote:

3. Sport: Men’s basketball (7/29/21)

Summary: Media members attended a men’s basketball skill instruction session during the summer.

Corrective actions taken: 1. Rules education was provided to the men’s basketball staff and communications staff. 2. The institution requested the production company edit out the segment that showed the skill instruction. 3. A letter of admonishment was issued to athletics communications staff member. 4. A letter of admonishment was issued to men’s basketball operations staff member. 5. A letter of admonishment was issued to assistant men’s basketball coach. 6. The institution provided education to the men's basketball staff and communications staff regarding the applicable state law on name, image and likeness with a focus on the provision(s) related to legally permissible institutional involvement in such activities

quote:

5. Sport: Men’s basketball (7/12/21)

Summary: Men’s basketball student-athlete participated in a celebrity charity 4x4 basketball tournament that was not an NCAA approved outside competition.

Corrective actions taken: 1. Rules Education was provided to the men’s basketball staff on outside competition. 2. The men’s basketball team received specific education on outside competition. 3. Outside competition requirements were covered in student-athlete compliance education meetings. 4. Student-athlete was declared ineligible, and The University of Alabama sought reinstatement. 5. The student-athlete was withheld from the first two regularly-scheduled men's basketball contests when student-athlete was next otherwise eligible to compete.

quote:

8. Sport: Women’s basketball (10/12/21)

Summary: Women's basketball coach mistakenly sent a text to a 2025 prospective student-athlete prior to the first permissible date to send recruiting materials.

Corrective actions taken: 1. Rules Education was provided to the women's basketball staff. 2. A letter of admonishment was issued discussing the appropriate legislation. 3. Women's basketball staff was prohibited from providing additional recruiting materials to the prospective student-athlete involved in the violation for 30 days following the first permissible date for distributing recruiting materials.

I think eventually we will learn to tell the difference between Oats actually being hyped about a player and coach speak. It took a while with Saban, but it has gotten to the point where you can tell which freshmen can hack it and which ones need a lot of work based on how he talks about them.

Most of what he said struck me as more "these guys can play" than "I need to come up with a nice spin to put on this kid since he's out of here after this season". He's not talking about intangibles and stuff like that. He's talking about how well they defend, shoot, etc.

Conference games with 20+ points:

Charvez - 0
Eblen - 0
Carl -
Jr. - 1

By a real measure of basketball dominance like scoring 20+ in a 4 OT game, Jr. is clearly the best of the bunch.

I was surprised when I went and looked back through the stats that Davis never did it in the SEC. I wonder how many times a week Jr brings up that game?
