"I am thrilled to have Henry and his family join our program," Oats said. "I've known Henry for a long time and we've remained in close contact for more than a decade. When it comes to basketball-specific strength and conditioning training, Henry consistently remains on the cutting edge. He has a built-in mindset of continuous growth in that regard, and the results speak for themselves. Henry is also a man of high character and is willing to do anything it takes to help the program be successful. He is a natural fit with our players, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome him to Tuscaloosa."

What did you mean by this? Sure sounds a lot like "when will we learn," does it not?

Source: Fardaws Aimaq is withdrawing from the 2022 draft and will play for Texas Tech next season. Aimaq led the nation in rebounding at Utah Valley in 2021 and was third nationally with 27 double-doubles this year. Should be among the best players in the Big 12.

I respect Stephen A.’s hustle, but damn is he a blithering idiot. I know that’s his act but should hot take artists really be voting on awards that effect players salaries? Just because he’s a prominent media figure? C’mon man

Same for Kendrick Perkins
Not the extent of Stephen A, but that’s really all Perkins is as well, with a tad bit more NBA knowledge

At least Perkins played. Stephen A has no qualification at all, but your point stands though. They’re both trying to say the craziest thing possible, but I’m cool with Perk getting a vote even if I totally disagree with his vote

Phenom 1-on-1: 2023 Sam Walters
Phenom Hoops continues their recruiting coverage, bringing you another 1-on-1. This time, we spoke with 2023 6’8 Sam Walters from Villages Charter and the Florida Rebels, as he is ranked as a Top-100 prospect for his class.
We speak to him about the summer so far with the Rebels and how he has been able to fit in with his team, but we also talk about some of the latest in his recruitment. Currently, Walters holds offers from SMU, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Samford, Charlotte, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Radford, Stetson, Florida, LSU, Georgetown, Alabama, and USF.
He talks about the latest, upcoming visits, and other schools showing interest. See what he had to say.
Phenom: How has everything been going this summer with you as far as basketball goes?
Walters: It has been going really well; this is my first year with Florida Rebels and I’ve really enjoyed it so far.
Phenom: How has the team been looking early on in your eyes and what are you looking to show with that program?
Walters: I think we’ve been looking good. I really gel with those guys, and I want to show I’m versatile and can play multiple positions. Also, I want to show that I can do whatever the team needs me to do.
Phenom: How would you describe your game and how you like to operate in general?
Walters: I would say I’m very versatile, can handle, shoot, pass, rebound… I just try to do everything, block shots, rebound; just things to help us win.
Phenom: Recruitment has been going well. What has been some of the newest news with you?
Walters: It has been going well. A lot of schools have been reaching out, the same ones that already are on my offer list plus schools like Florida State, UCF, and some others.
Phenom: SMU was the latest to offer. What did they have to say your way?
Walters: I really enjoyed talking with Coach Lanier. He explained that they have been settling in for the last seven weeks and their play style.
Phenom: Would you say that there are a few schools really starting to recruit your harder these days?
Walters: Yes, there are several schools recruiting me hard, mostly every school that I’m talking to.
Phenom: Have you been able to make any visits or have any upcoming visits?
Walters: I have a visit to Alabama June 1-3, my first one.
Phenom: What are you excited about seeing with that visit?
Walters: The campus and the overall feel of how things are there.
Phenom: What other schools have been showing interest your way?
Walters: Florida State, UCF, and Davidson.

People are never high on the instate kids but they always end up being good.

I just think he would've been a good fit. Run the floor and plays defense.
