True but I think we also had to run through herb a good bit because outside of Q, we had zero true ball handlers. JD and JQ will make this much easier to give one a break and run the other, or to have them both out there and maybe exploit mismatches easier, more guards to get to the rim, etc.

Id bet we get Bediako then one of Burnett and Gurley, probably Burnett, then Rojas transfers out and we will be at exactly 13.

Who do you guys have in the game tonight? I am going with my same prediction I had before the tourney, I think Baylor wins. Should be a great game. Cant wait.

Yeah, Bediako and Burnett with Rojas transferring out is what i've kind of been expecting for a few weeks now.

I don't know how to get the old recruiting thread removed so all the info can flow through here. I've RA'd it a half a dozen times in the last week and nothing has happened yet.

I think it gets confusing putting the recruiting info in this thread with all the general discussion. Easy to miss recruiting news.

Jeff Goodman has us 8th in his too early preseason rankings. Have to think that getting Bediako and/or Burnett would move us up some.

Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide will definitely look different next year, but they still return a bunch of key pieces from a team that won the SEC regular-season title and tournament. Shackelford could turn into a star, and Oats will likely have plenty of guards who can make plays in the trio of Quinerly, Primo and Davison.

All the recruiting info we need is on page one of this thread though and the other thread is two years old and no longer gets updated.

I agree Chad. No need for 2 threads in the offseason.
When the Season starts and you create the new season thread this can become the new recruiting thread for the duration of the season

Honestly, we discuss recruiting news as often in this thread as the actual recruiting thread anyway. I like the idea of an all-inclusive basketball thread since this one gets more traffic and discussion.

I’ve been trying to figure out who was leaving (besides Rojas) ever since we started offering additional transfers, but I’m really starting to think the rest of these guys are just backups for Burnett or Bediako. Would Gurley be a great addition? From the sound of it, sure. Would he be better than adding the other two guys that we’ve been recruiting for over a year? I’m doubtful.
Has Oats ever made any statements about transfers vs high school recruits? Or is he just going after the best guys, period?
I know some of us aren’t sold on Bediako, but I think he could be a huge piece for us in a year or two. With Wilson and Tchikou hopefully available, size shouldn’t be as big of an issue next season either.
Also, Tchikou and Bediako play very different games, so I think it’s at least possible that they could see the floor at the same time, rather than interchangeably at the 5.

If we pick up Gardner or Gurley, probably see KAH be the other transfer.

I doubt either one of them transfer. I think the other guys we have contacted are backup plans unless Bediako or Burnett have a change of heart and we miss on one of them.
