Is Bruce Pearl basically Frank Martin?

Yeah all of our fans who slobber over bruce and wish we d hired him need to take a look at that timeline on him. Might make them be more appreciative of nate

I mean we're all having fun but Bruce is a damn good coach who took one of the worst and most dead programs in America to a usual NCAA team, has won conference titles and went to a Final Four.
But it's also fun to laugh at some of the meltdowns.

My sincere hope is that in another 5 years we're looking at Pearl's Final Four about how we look at Frank Martin's.

We’ve beaten a quarter of the sweet sixteen yet everyone knew we had no hope of making past the first weekend. What a team.

Yea we're definitely in a position to talk shite about something like that after this season.

Having the best offensive player and the best defensive player in the country helps.

“Bediako, Gurley, Burnett, and Miles return. Gary’s status up in the air still. Everyone else is expected to leave or be shown the door”.
From a dude who’s pretty dang connected and a very solid source with this comment on the team on BOL.

That’s probably accurate. Miles and Gary are the two people are speculating on the most. Could see them going either way.

Not talking crap just being real! Alabama didn't have a player of Jabari Smith caliber neither supposedly the #1 draft pick is all I am saying.
Posted on 3/21/22 at 4:40 am to Joka2kold
If Ninari comes out as a leader then we will have him and Shack as our go to guys with the 2 elite freshman coming in. I like it.

I don't know if Shack's coming back but I do think Nimari will be a leader next season. I think JD will return but it will all depend on where he's slotted in the draft.

I don’t know if JD coming back is a good thing or not. If he does, I think he needs to be a 2 guard.
His passes are still at the high school level mentally. The over the top stuff to Bediako is nice, but only because Bediako is 7ft.
He gets near the baseline and just throws the ball at a teammate way too often. Idk if you can fix that because he didn’t fix it all season.

I think his immaturity as a passer/primary ball handler can be fixed, but I'm still not sure where that leaves us. I can't remember the last time we had a PG less capable of getting his own shot, and for this offense to really work you need a guy who can get into the paint consistently. The athleticism just hasn't fully translated for him, and I don't know how that can change. You have to have an explosive first step to create for yourself as a guard at this level and beyond and JD just doesn't have one. As far as moving him off the ball, I'm not sure what that solves either. He'd have to improve significantly on his outside shot. He may get some defensive matchups that make it easier for him to get to the basket, but because he's only 6'2"-6'3" you're just giving that advantage back on the other end. He's basically a more athletic but worse shooting version of Shack as a 2.

The Barn's had 13 losing (BB) seasons since 2000. Now they're Duke in orange and blue.
