I wouldn't think taking a year off in and of itself would disqualify him from becoming eligible. My concerns there would be whether he took any money from anyone while doing that private draft prep nonsense and what his final semester of high school looked like in terms of grades since I'm pretty sure the decision to forego college was made before he graduated.

Away from Shack here is some updates from BOL
About Bediako:
About Bediako:

He arrived in great shape and has been much more athletic than we originally thought. Still learning and raw but is a presence in the post.

I think he starts at the 5. Also, JQ is dominating practice right now. Straight crossing JD over and over. JD will get better defensively obviously, but Q is on another level right now.

The effort is there. I’m more speaking to the level that Q is on right now. JD will be much improved by the time the season rolls around.

I really thought that Q was are most NBA ready player. He did the right thing by coming back. I believe that he’s working to be a lottery pick. Very smart move

I agree with whoever said that they think Holt could step into Shack's role and do just fine. If we do sign another player I hope they are a good shooter because in losing Primo and Shack we lost one really good shooter and another solid one.

Holt can really shoot and unlike Shack he is 6’6. I think he can have a Shack like Impact as a freshman

I gotta see him prove it on the college level first. Many a good high school shooter can never find their fit at this level.

I was expecting to get blasted for that.

being surrounded by talented unselfish players and being in the oats system is what maximized shacks ability. ill just say the lack of gratitude for that seems rather confusing.
as for a potential replacement one name ive havent seen mentioned thats worth keeping an eye on is alonzo verge. kids pretty good, knows how to score.

The best thing about Shack was his fearlessness, it really helped him out as a freshman, he came in from day one playing like a veteran. Not every player has that as a freshman.
Forbes was not ready as a Freshman, neither was JQ or Nimari, we will have to see about Holt. Hopefully he is at least solid, we could really use his shooting. He was an above 40% three point shooter in HS, Oat's said they recruited him because they thought his shooting could replace Petty's, that's pretty big praise.

Is there a football player who is also playing basketball?

As Bamafan will tell you,” they can’t shoot 3s unless they can hit them on Twitter”

Yeah I mean you'd think our fans would have learned by now to never assume a guy will shoot well until he has made like 35-40 of the first 100 3s he attempts in an Alabama uniform. We could field an entire team of highly touted prep guards who couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat the second they arrived in Tuscaloosa.

Yeah me too, he was a hell of a player as last year at Tulane.

1. Kentucky
2. Arkansas
3. Bama

6. LSU
7. Miss State

One of the first times I've seen someone a little bullish on State while also acknowledging that Mike White sucks and Florida will continue its steady descent into mediocrity.
