If JQ can get good enough at shooting them to make a good percentage of them I think Oats will give him the green light to do it. A guy like JQ who can't dunk, theres only so many things they can do when they get in there, JQ and Shack getting good in the midrange would help a lot.

I get where Oats is coming from though, on average a college team may shoot like 45% from midrange, why not kick it out to a guy standing on the three point line who is open that shoots 42% from three. The analytics do say to pass it in that situation.

I do think we would benefit by allowing guys to shoot some pull up floaters on drives

I think we will see more midrange shots this year, not a ton, but more than last year.

I would think that's very generous. I suspect the average is probably somewhere in the mid 30s at the collegiate level. Mid-rangers are often not set shots and more off-the-dribble when compared to 3PA.

Yeah it's probably lower than that on average, I was being generous. Seemed like UCLA shot like 80% from there vs us last year though.

I hate that for the kid. He wasn’t gonna play much anyways so at least he gets a free degree.

It wasn't free, he worked to stay on scholarship and earned it.

He was arguably the worst player on next year’s roster. Sucks for him but doesn’t change my outlook on the season at all.

He could barely touch the rim after one ACL blowout. Gotta imagine his basketball days are all but over…at least at a high level. Hate it for him.

What happens to his scholarship? Is it wishful thinking that he can go on a medical now and not count?

I thought it was discussed, he doesn’t count against the numbers because he should be a CPVID senior.

Idk if it’s been discussed but If Petty hasn’t signed with an Agent do y’all think Oats could talk him into coming back if Primo decides to stay in the draft?

I’d say probably not because he has children and his stock can’t improve
