He broke down his top 6 in a recent On3 article. He honestly doesn't seem to have a favorite right now, I think we have a legit shot. Our system fits him the best with him being 6’9 and wanting to play guard in college. I’ll post what he said about his top 6 schools, I think USC is the only one he’s visited so far.
quote:
AJ Dybantsa reclassified from the 2026 class to 2025 in October. The 6-foot-8 wing immediately moved to the No. 1 spot in the 2025 On3 150. Dybantsa also transferred to Napa (CA) Prolific Prep this summer. I can do a little bit of everything,” Dybantsa told On3. “I’m a playmaker., I defend, and score, and I rebound. I’m working on my handle to be a guard, and I’m shooting it a lot better, and more consistently this year, than I did last year. I watch a lot of Paul George and Jayson Tatum. They’re two-way players and I take pride in my defense. They can also score and do a little bit of everything.
quote:
Alabama: “Coach (Preston) Murphy was my AAU coach. So, he tells me a lot about them. He has been coaching me for the past two years in the summer. When he left, he had just been telling me to come to Alabama, too. He’s been trying to recruit me. They talk about how I have a Brandon MIller game and would play exactly how he did it.”
quote:
UConn: “They’re still involved, my dad talks to them a lot. I mean, obviously, they won it all last year. They’re a winning program.”
quote:
USC “I learned a lot, both about them and the process,” Dynantsa said. “That was my first official visit; they had a good aura. They let their guys play free there. The campus is huge there, and it is in L.A. You can’t be mad at Los Angeles. They have good facilities, multiple gyms, and that weight room. I like the Galen Center too; I like playing in front of those big atmospheres.
quote:
Kentucky: “They’re obviously a good program. They have produced a lot of NBA players and won a lot of championships. They let their wings play. Brandon Boston went there, and look how Terrence (Clarke) played, he had a good season there.”
quote:
Auburn: “I like them and what they do,” Dybantsa said. “They are a guard school and run a guard program, and I am trying to be a guard. I wouldn’t mind going to a guard school. They let their guards play freely there. And if I come in as a guard and am able to play freely, I know I can make good decisions.”
quote:
UNC: “They’re a good team, and they’re having a good season this year. They have won multiple championships and they have produced a lot of NBA players. I think they could be an option to get me to that next level.”
quote:
At the end of the day… “I want to play for a coach that is not going to sugarcoat anything for me,” Dybantsa said. “A family atmosphere is big. I’m going to be away from home. I want the opportunity to develop as a guard. So being able to play the one, two, and the three will be big for me.

I dont understand what he says about Auburn being a guard school. Have they had any guards drafted under Pearl other than Sharife Cooper? He’s still in the G league. Bryce Brown and Jared Harper both went undrafted and are playing in the EuroLeague.
When I think of Auburn under Pearl I think of them more of a F/C school with them having guys like Jabari Smith, Walker Kessler, Wiley, Johnni Broome ect.

Ya that makes him the most likely. That’ll be steep hill to climb.

That would be awesome. Would also be great if Reid and Sherrell play well enough next year to be one and dones, we should be a top team if that happens and Sears returns.

We’re in the top 3 for 2024 PG Dequan Davis who decommitted from Providence recently.
247 has him ranked as the #89 player in the 2024 class
quote:
PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Daquan Davis, a four-star point guard in the class of 2024, has been recruited by Alabama, Indiana and Texas A&M the most since decommitting from Providence in October.
The Overtime Elite product dropped 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a 73-69 win over Our Savior Lutheran (NY.) at The Battle at Rutgers on Friday. “I just needed to stick with my team,” Davis told ZAGSBLOG postgame. “They trusted me to get points down the stretch, and I feel like I accomplished what they wanted me to do.”
As for his recruitment, Davis has yet to visit any of the three schools, but will look to do so before a commitment is made.

2024 4 star Daquan Davis had a huge year in Overtime Elite! He averaged 19.3ppg, 5.1ast, 5.6rebs and 2.1stls! 4th in points, 5th in assists and 5th in steals! He is still uncommitted and tells me he will be scheduling visits soon. Indiana, Alabama & Texas A&M schools to watch!

Likely 89 with a bullet with this years performance.

He looks good, really good scorer. I would usually prefer to bring in a transfer PG if there’s an immediate need but assuming Sears comes back it could be a good strategy and time to bring in a HS PG, let him play behind Sears next year and learn then possibly take over as the main PG in two years.
Just depends on what he’s looking for, Indiana loses their PG after this season and might be offering more immediate playing time. He says he plans visit all 3 schools before he decides.

Five-star junior Mikel Brown could join class of 2024
He’s currently ranked as the 15th best player in the 2025 class.
quote:
One of the top prospects in the class of 2025, five-star point guard Mikel Brown Jr. may soon become one of the top prospects in the class of 2024 as buzz is beginning to build about a possible reclassification to 2024. Sources indicate that Brown, who currently plays in the Atlanta-based Overtime Elite League, could make the jump to 2024 as early as this spring. Should that take place, Brown’s recruitment timetable would be accelerated. The Florida native has grown significantly over the past year and now checks in at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds. His new build puts to rest old concerns about his size and allows the versatile guard to look and operate like a college-ready prospect.
Alabama, Indiana, Texas, Providence and Georgia Tech would be the schools to watch closest should the reclassification take place
He’s currently ranked as the 15th best player in the 2025 class.

Brown has some serious handles. Once he got a recent growth spurt, his stuck stock went through the roof.
