keon looking like lil jimmy as expected. shack still streaky as hell with a bleh. gurley more than just a shooter. jd crazy talent with expected growing pains. bediako doing as expected, and solid bench play from miles. i take the 3 steals with 1 TO to mean he played under control and solid D, the two things he needed to improve the most.
all in all not the worst preseason performance. i like where theyre at and i think the threes will fall eventually...

They were 12-21 from the free throw line. There's your difference. Probably should have lost.
We get everyone playing and get some floor time together and we'll be ok.
On the other hand, Shack has to be much better or he'll shoot us out of games.

why the hell do Oats teams start so damn slow and ugly? I don't get it. It's almost like we don't prepare for games.

Maybe Nate will put both Shack and his father on the bench

One can only assume you missed where Bama was playing without two projected starters and only 9 scholarship players total.

And I guess y’all missed the first two seasons where we lost to an Ivy League school and got boatraced by Stanford. I know we were missing players, but we should still have enough firepower to beat a decent mid-major without sweating.
Has anyone heard the reason JQ and the others were out?

well, poor shooting while adjusting to a top tier pace can cause issues for anyone. also most quality mid majors or average p6 teams can beat any top team on off night. that gap isnt nearly as wide as it used to be in general. just look at the past few tourney results. dont worry man, theres much here to stay excited about.

This will be the first time under Oats we are bringing back the lead guard who knows how to run the offense. If we look poor with JQ running the offense and start out poorly again then yeah I’ll be concerned. However, playing without two starters in an exhibition game, I’m not going to act like this means literally anything.

Does anybody know if Q and Gary being out was injury related or disciplinary?
Posted on 10/24/21 at 7:02 pm to Bryant91092
and why were starters out. We not even in the season yet and two starters are out?

Suspended for one game and will be back for the opener.

I love where they are at right now despite being without JQ, Gary, & Tchikou. Their guys played hard and they were physical. We shot horrid and we played terrible defense at times. We lost a lot from last year's team so buddy calm down because everything gone be just fine. LET THEM GEL..
Btw Tchikou should be ready to go for the first game of the season per Coach Oats
