This year the offense can carry us if the defense struggles.

We will never have a bad defense as long as Saban is here but with new coaches, a new secondary and no true nosegaurd on the roster we are due for a couple of steps back. I know I am a homer but we are gonna set records on offense. We may have the best: quarterback, running backs, wide receivers and OL in the country. Yep, we are gonna be scary.

If daboll stays we should be good in year 2 of the system. I still think the jury is out on him due to the underuse of the RBS, meaning not sticking to one if they got hot.

He did fumble the ball with the running back rotation for sure and both Harris's should have gotten more carries. I think it will be much better next season because we won't need to use Tua in the running game as much as we used Hurts. Hurts was such a good runner that the staff tried to use it a little too much. I am ok with or without Daboll honestly.

Yeah I hope we don't try to run Tua too much, don't want him getting hurt.

I've been hammering the table for two years saying Damien should have more carries. I was prepared to say Najee would be a 2018 Heisman candidate. Now with both back, plus Josh Jacobs, it'll be interesting to see how the carries are split up. If both could get around 200 carries that'd be nice and in theory Jacobs could get something like 50 carries and 25 receptions. Not as many touches as Jacobs would like I'm sure, and he's dynamic, but we're loaded so it's a good problem to have. Maybe use Jacobs on kick returns too, I think he could break a few and grab some TDs.

I doubt he would run tua even ode to as much as jalen. That's why I'm hoping there's something like a tebow package or slash role for jalen without risking him because we need an experienced backup QB. Just want him to stay and have a role to help him have a Sunday career down the road.

The secondary may struggle a bit and we may not get as much pressure from the middle when Big Chef comes out, but they shouldn't be a total shite show as a unit. We will still have elite Ends in Ray, Parks, Buggs and Hall-Lewis. Our LBs will be elite. In the middle we will have Mack and Moses and Miller and Jennings on the outside. We will have Thompson and Diggs as safeties, Smith, Carter, Knott and Mayden as corners. We will be fine on defense. We may not be as nasty as 2015, but we will be damn good. This is a Saban team, bro.

I think the secondary will be fine. Some of our elite defenses also were ridiculed about not defending the deep ball. The pass rush next year will be legendary and will help out the secondary

The only questionable one is the OL, the other 3 are elite.

Burns rotates the RB's, not Daboll.

We may have the best RB corps, but the rest are questionable.

Our front 7, minus the DT questions, is loaded.

Should've played DH, NH & JJ more in Q1-Q3 and then Bo & BR in Q4 as fresh legs "closers" vs worn down defenses.

My thoughts too, TS. That’s where Bo really made a name for himself in ‘16, as the closer. Just wasn’t effective this year in an expanded role. I feel like we left yards and points off the board by not giving DH and NH more touches. But I wish him well at the next level. He’s a physical freak so maybe he can find a role.

Here’s a crazy stat. Bo actually had the 2nd most catches on the team behind Ridley despite having the lowest ypc. We kept trying that swing out pass to him every game despite the fact it rarely produced. I’m sure the thinking was get it to Bo in the flats and all he has to do is run over/around 1 guy and it’s a big gain. Problem was he wasn’t able to get past the 1st guy.

I think the weight loss hurt Bo's style. He didn't look quicker with the weight loss so it was a net loss over all.

Rewatching some highlights , Ruggs is bad man. He's the guy that broke Drake's top speed record in practice right?

We'll get Shavers next year. Any news on his development?

As long as we can consistently move the bowl and convert third downs when we need too........teams could sell out to the run and as long as they had athletic DBs to go one on one they would be in good shape......see the Auburn game.

We will have a very good team again. Secondary will be a little green but lots and lots of talent.
