Outside of the Arkansas game, I really thought the defense started to put it together down the stretch last year. Overall I thought Golding simplified things. Get the call in. Get the personnel in. Everybody take a gap and play fast. I did not see 4 or 5 guys looking at the sideline as the ball was being snapped like previous years.

On the players:
I know what 31 is.
I trust Turner, To'o To'o, Battle and Hellams.
Hot take alert...I think Brian Branch is the best player on this team, and maybe the conference, not named Anderson or Bryce Young.

There are two keys in my mind:
1) Two dudes minimum from the group of Dale, Young, Eboigbe, Smith and Burroughs have to be animals. Period. Somebody has to win consistently in the middle. And keep the LBs clean. Keep an eye on Burroughs.
2) Can Ricks be what we think he is. College offenses are decidedly right handed. The left corner has to be a dog. Somebody that can punch you in the nose at the point of attack but also turn those hips and run with receivers. Surtain, Diggs, Humphrey...etc. Levi Wallace wasn't as physical as those guys but he made it work. I like Jackson but not sure he's the whole package.
