I just saw this tweet.

quote:

There were 42 plays in 2019 when Alabama put out Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle. The results:

Smith 7/10 176 yds 3 td
Waddle 5/6 118 yds 2 td
Jeudy 7/8 122 yds 1 td
Ruggs III 6/8 148 yds 1 td

I acknowledge we've had a very crazy run of WRs therefore a bit which makes our WR room look worse than it is, as well.

However, you can't say that we've found really explosive playmakers via recruiting (as of late).

I might be off, but had Bryce had this group last year he might’ve been more competitive in competing for back to back Heismans.

Bond, Prentice, Burton, and Benson are capable of big numbers if given the chance.

If Rees would remember there are 2 legit threats at TE, it might free up space for the WRs as well.

At this point in Saban's career. He needs GREAT coaches around him.

Saban always needed great coaches around him and he hired great coaches. That's why he's the GOAT.

I think it's actually more about the QB.

People forget that for 7 straight seasons (2016-2022), we had a starting NFL QB under center. That's pretty effing crazy.

You contrast that to now, having a QB who likely won't make an NFL roster, it accounts for the huge drop-off that we're experiencing.

In other words, if we had any one of Bryce, Mac, Tua, or Hurts right now, we'd be 3-0 and riding high. Probably ranked #1.

It’s not. Talent helps but Coaches are more important
