The 1979 defense I believe had five shutouts. I know UT scored 17 on us, I was at that game. I think The Boogs scored close to that also. But everyone else was completely shut down.

'92 defense didn't get much help from the offense. We did have very good special teams though.

You're right about the AU game, although IIRC at least one if not two of AU's scores came on drives that began when we fumbled away a punt.

I forgot about fumbles in that game. Wilcox is the one who fumbled the punt. I remember we had at least two more fumbles on offense. Ogilvie had the bad one that was deep in Alabama territory.

Now that you mention it, I think you're right -- it was Wilcox who fumbled the punt. I think the two fumbled punts that I was remembering came in the 1981 Iron Bowl, and in that case I think it was Jones on both of them.

I didn't remember Ogilvie's fumble, but I'll take your word for it. What I do think I'm remembering correctly, however, is that when Auburn took the lead something like 18-17 after our last turnover, on our first play from scrimmage there was a pitchback to Ogilvie. Either it bounced on the way to him, or he had trouble handling it; either way, the ball hit the ground. He got hold of the ball to avoid yet another turnover, and I think he even gained about 4 yards on the play. From there we took it down the field, scored, and made a 2-point conversion.
