A new NCAA working group tasked with reviewing NIL spent the past month creating the multipage document of guidelines, an addendum to the organization’s interim NIL policy released last summer. The guidelines are being rushed through the NCAA governance system and could be approved within a week’s time, sources say. They are expected to be the first of what could be ongoing clarity from leadership about the new and complicated space.

The draft of guidelines is being circulated this week in Phoenix, where more than 200 administrators and coaches from at least four conferences hold their annual spring meetings. The administrative council of the NCAA Board of Directors meets Monday, at which point they can rubber stamp the draft.

Well damn I guess USC will have to back off Jordan Addison now. If only there was a school with a legendary coach, mega elite quarterback, a wide open offense, and a history of putting 1st round receivers into the NFL for Addison to go to

No sanctions will come of this for whatever has already happen. Places like a&m probably assumed it would happen and said lets do whatever it takes to take advantage of a broken system before the NCAA places restrictions on it. I can not remember any time the NCAA has created a rule and then made retroactive to serve punishment.

It may prevent what happen during the last recruiting cycle going forward.

I'd sure hate to see some of those Aggie recruits in Tide uniforms down the road.

The SEC commissioner will have plenty of opportunities to shape the direction the NCAA as attention starts to turn toward the start of the 2022 football season.
