1000% agreed. Schools using NIL to buy recruits who don’t have a very strong institutional grip over their program are going to be rife with instability.
One aspect I’ll be interested in seeing develop over time, which Saban mentioned in his talk, is the willingness of boosters to continue putting up cash over time. Take our program for example, we have as high of a hit rate on recruits and five stars in particular as anywhere in the country. It’s still 50/50 with 5 stars even here. So will a booster be willing to pay 750k for a recruit in 2025 when the recruit they paid the same for this year never breaks the two deep? Or will they decide an annual investment that has no monetary return isn’t worth it?

I’d like to see Saban use NIL to benefit the entire team. Allowing higher profile athletes to profit off their NIL, while at the same time spreading the wealth and continuing to promote “team”.

I’m not talking about taking away from one to pay others.
Let the stars get their due, but have a system in place to facilitate deals for non-sexy positions.
A summer camp where OL/DL get paid to teach kids some skills.
A website to buy merchandise from all players.
Submit ? to a particular player and pay for video response.
People make tens of thousands from go fund me, so there is disposable income to support athletes. .
Someone needs to come up with a one-stop shopping place where I can buy a $25 shirt from Dallas Turner.
Maybe it’s more complicated than in my head, hopefully CNS has it figured out.

Saban is already doing that. He said that earlier. Bama’s collective will pay everyone on the roster a set amount and players will be free to make other individual deals on their own. Good plan.

He is the most overrated. Jimbo was like 2-3 vs Ed O, and has 1 victory out of like 5 vs Saban. He isn't a threat, and that cover 10-8 is going to be beautiful

I don’t think what happened last year really had much to with Saban saying what he did. I think it’s because he sees what is happening this year. I think it’s about Tony Mitchell and maybe others. Tony Mitchell was probably very close to committing to Bama. We all know without NIL, and when I say we all know, Jimbo even knows that there is no chance in hell that Mitchell would even consider A&M without it. So Mitchell came back from his visit there and probably told Saban Coach I want to come to Bama but I need this amount to match them. This is a direct violation of the rules and everyone knows it.
