Really the SEC should be ashamed to put these officials on the field that don't call the game correctly. Kirby out on the field most of the game game bitching and #4 is going around getting no calls 3 times. bullshite.
But you fix it behind closed doors. I'm not confident anything will change though, since it has happened at Tennessee the last two times up there and here we are again, happening in our fricking house.

The frustrating part (other than the SEC just being silent on it) they had two chances to correctly called targeting: on the field and in the booth. If they had done that, #4 would’ve been ejected and he isn’t there to commit DPI at the end of the game. Not only did they not make the call that caused a literal concussion, they made a game altering no-call.
If half of these “50/50” judgment calls had gone our way, everyone is talking about how undisciplined UGA is.

No actual Bama fan thinks they should just "move on."
You don't intentionally get screwed like that for an entire game and just say "that's the breaks, let's move on." Ridiculous. This wasn't a case of a single, bad missed call.
If not fired, I would never want that crew officiating another Bama game. It was too egregious to have not been intentional.

The most frustrating thing is they just picked up the PI flag with no review. I mean, how many times are obvious PI flags just picked up? It reeks of dirtiness.

I want the team to move on because Saturday’s game could theoretically punch out ticket to the playoffs if we hold serve the rest of the way. Having our heads back in Bryant-Denny does the team no good.
A public statement looks cheap and whiney. All it will do is invite the haters to dunk on us by sky screaming that we got the calls for the last 17 years (See Brandon Walker). The only time I’ve see publicly crying work is when Delpit for LSU was ejected before our game in 2018. LSU fans cried so much that it got a legit targeting on Tua overturned in our game.
Privately, I very much hope Byrne is lighting the conference up. What leverage Byrne has to get something done…I don’t know but I trust (and hope) that he’s not just sitting around playing candy crush on his phone.

No flag was thrown. If anyone has video of that, then I stand corrected.

It's over man.... It's over.... We can't get it back...
We can go over what-if scenarios until that cows come home.... UGA is a top 2 team.... A DAMN GOOD team.... This game could have gone either way.... That said, we'll see them again...

quote:You are missing the bigger issue. Its not just this game. Its SEC refs not doing their job correctly and Bama was the victim of it. We cannot allow big games to be decided by refs just willy-nilly saying obvious PI didn't happen. We need long-term change and if that means full-time officials then so be it. This isn't high school. There is a LOT riding on these games...........The mods must have got complaints and want this topic to go away. Its not updating to the top of the page when people post.
It's over man.

Maybe if we only had Cignetti.
When Deboer wins his championship, as far as I'm concerned, you have no part with us, you weak-willed turncoat.

I think its against the rules for them to comment on it.

They can't say anything.
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) strictly prohibits any public criticism of game officials or the officiating program by institutional personnel under SEC Bylaw 10.5 (specifically Bylaw 10.5.3 regarding Sportsmanship).

I was at the game and I do not recall seeing a flag on the field. ESPN did put the flag notification up on the broadcast at the time though for what that was worth.

You spent the off-season and the early partnof this season swearing that DeBoer wasn’t worth a plug-nickel and you wanted him gone and for us to hire Cignetti.
Now that those who defended DeBoer are proven right, you’re all rah, rah, team and act like you were on board the whole way. At least have the decency to post under an alter.

the university should never bitch and moan about the shitty performance of the refs.
So, in other words, the institution should just bend over and take it? Refs are paid to do a job and they should be held accountable for their work! We bitch and moan over a shitty performance by the teams and coaches….what separates referees from scrutiny?

I honestly think ABC/ESPN production crew saw the clear as day 100/100 times called PI like the rest of the world did and just hit the graphic for penalty flag. But then… there wasn’t one, so they removed the graphic.
