The committee showed us last year that losses, not wins, are what matter. You can’t give yourself a chance to lose OOC. If Alabama had played North Central Idaho State in week 1 we’d be in the top 5.

We need to drop all future marquee OOC games and schedule mediocre or weak P4 teams in their place. The rest can be FCS and the dregs of FBS.

Thats why the big 10 makes the schedules that are about helping the top teams make the playoffs.

Their only value is ticket sales. Make your schedule as easy as possible. That should be the goal if you’re serious about making the playoff every year.

Playoff game tickets for a home playoff game would trump any big early season OOC game. Imagine Bryant Denny hosting a first round match up. Historically massive event for the University and Tuscaloosa.

Exactly.

Again, either we are serious about this or we’re not. If we’re serious then we need to cancel the future OOC games with teams like Ohio State and Notre Dame. It’s nothing but risk.
