I got as big a kick out of this as anyone, but I doubt we'll see it again, for one very simple reason: if a sideline reporter can see them play and that Jeudy wins, so can opposing DBs now that they know to watch for it. Hate to be a spoil sport, but they can't announce to the defense that Jeudy or Smith will be the primary deceiver or deep threat on any given play.

You make a great point. We could also see some gamesmanship and use the winner as a decoy in such a case

Unless they simply change it to whoever loses gets the route.

Or keep it the same, knowing DCs will expect them to do the opposite.

Or have the third/fourth WR actually get the route, ignoring the two guys playing RPS.

All kinds of fun head game shite you can play with that.

There is indeed. Our staff should be shrewd enough to do that.

Tua is looking mighty comfortable and dangerous with his full progression reads. The problem for defenses these days is that the ball isn't just coming out in the RPO game. If you want to cheat up and stick your nose at the LOS you are going to eat a handful of slants to the house. Otherwise, Tua is also more than willing this season to take what the defense can't cover. I'd say Jeudy is striking the most fear in these DBs at this point with the double coverage he has been seeing. Our receivers certainly know that as well.

Doubt it is an issue. It was to see who gets the route. Nobody knows what will the guys run.

The point is that they get tipped off about which receiver is likely Tua's primary target.

Is it possible D. Smith will return next year. We will need him badly

"Hey Jerry, we're doing the opposite this time when we do RPS"

Problem solved.

I could see it. This is a very deep class of WRs, next year is nice too with Waddle and Ross at the top, but it may not be as deep. Smith could come back for another year and potentially be a first rounder.

It will not matter to be honest. Tua is not Hurts who would stare Ridley and you knew where he is going to throw. Tue goes through all his reads better then any QB I have seen in college since probably P Manning. If the first option is not there he will find the one that is.

I remember one of the UGA LBs in an interview at the ESPY's when asked about the SECCG in 2012. They asked him what he remembered the most or something like that and he said in the 2nd half Alabama would break the huddle and Fluker would tell the UGA D they were going to run behind him and to come stop it. We finished with over 350 yds rushing in the comeback with both Lacy and Yeldon 150+ mostly behind Fluker.

I wish we could find some more OL like Fluker.

It was actually the Palmer & Pollack Awards Show and the LB was Jarvis Jones.

Sounds like Saban wasn't happy about that.
