Kid played his arse off this year as a 17 year old against grown men. I'll go to war with him anyday.

Never said he didnt...that is a completely different point than I was making.

Who knows how he will react to a new coach...if he does not like Oats approach then good luck in his new location.

I mean, yea, sure. But I'd prefer he get out of the portal and play for Oats before he leaves.

Yeah Shackleford is gonna be the real deal IMO. I hope we are able to keep him.

Forbes is gonna be a solid starter IMO

The fact that we even have to talk about these things, tells all you need to know about the previous staff.

Hope everyone gives the man a chance. Greg Byrnes I believe has done his research and and I believe this wasn’t a quick decision , but has been in the works for.a while. I believe he has seen a pattern with Avery. Greg Bynes is an A1 AD and his best interests are for the University of Alabama! Roll Tide!

I have heard a rumor that when Watford visited after a loss he went into the locker room and saw guys laughing and joking like they didn’t GAF. It was a real turnoff to him because he wants to be a winner in college. The main source of the atmosphere was Dazon and Petty.

It’s just a rumor and I don’t know how much if any truth there is to it so TIFWIW but it does appear on the surface to fit.

Dude its hard to get good players here. What did we give Avery four years? We cant afford to lose any of these guys honestly. Ingram is the only guy i could care less about because he wont shoot the ball.

I believe that rumor to be true. The people i know in Petty circle tell me the exact same type of things and they are disgusted.

Afternoon the introductory press conference tomorrow, I'd like to see Oats at Mountain Brook for a couple of reasons. Like leave the press conference and go straight to Mountain Brook

I will admit that unless they are a locker room cancer , I would just as soon that they stay and see what they can do with a structured environment . Now if they can’t buy in... so be it. I know it could take Oats some time but let’s be real , if Ingram, Lewis , Petty, Giddens, Hall and possibly some signees are not on this roster it could get ugly real quick next year

Agree...unless the attitude does not fit.

Kira may have the best attitude, I dont know.

I think most of us are disagreeing over semantics and not opinion.

I hope all stay and have a good attitude. But if the attitude is not right then nobody is worth keeping around like that...especially when a new coach is trying to establish a new culture.

You can take one look at Petty’s lower body and tell the dude doesn’t hit the gym like he should. His calves are skinnier than my wrists. Dude just doesn’t work for it.

Nate Oats, the newly hired basketball coach at Alabama, has a reputation for being a lunatic on the sidelines during games, so he’s not hard to miss.
