I feel like Mack has the inside track by knowing the offense. I’m here for it!

At this point Ty should know it as well as Mack.

Honestly I think Mack and Ty will both be competent options.

However I truly think this freshman pushes them. There’s no way DeBoer just plays someone by default after this season. Fanbase will demand the best player.

It won’t matter unless we get some more wide receivers in the fold besides Germie and Williams. We are very thin at that position.

Do you think Russell could start as a true freshman? Seems ultra talented on the videos I’ve watched. But seems like he needs a year in the weight room to me.

You guys never learn going from HS to Power 5 college is a huge step and all HS kids look great against HS competition. If Keelon Russell starts, Bama is in a world of shite in the QB room. That's not going to happen. LOL!!

I look for Mack and Simpson to battle it out in the spring. I would not be surprised to see Mack win the job but it's probably Simpson's to lose.

Miami receiver will give us some goaline and sideline help with his height and jumping ability.

Mack throws a nice touch pass

No matter what...I wanna see a guy that wants to win as much as the ND QB did last night.

I think two years of a QB always prioritizing himself over the team and refusing to ever take hits to get 2-3 extra yards has really taken its toll.

Hell id take a Jake Coker right now

Not if the guy is a generational-level talent. Let’s get through the spring before making definitive statements.

Not saying in any shape, form or fashion that it won’t be Ty, but knowing it and being best suited for it are two different things.

The only thing I think keeping Russell from winning the Job is the amount of fight Ty will put up to win the job.

I hope Mack is ready, cause Ty will work his arse off.

I'm gonna say he's not but even generational talented players are hard to see the field as starting QBs when they are true freshmen. LOL, at you guys! LOL.

I edited to add, he is such generational talent, Texas didn't offer and Texas A&M only offered late in the process.

Possibly, but college football is littered with superstar freshman QBs that didn't amount to squat.

Personally, even if Russell is that generational type player that just can't be kept off the field, I would still like to see Ty/Mack start the first few games and allow Russell to ease into the role.

That TD throw where he took an absolute hammer shot in the pocket is my favorite Bama throw of all time.

Favorite catch Is Tyrone Prothro

I know he will and if he wins the job I will be 100% in his corner.

The problem is, IMO and donning Kevlar, I think there is an element of our fan base that wants Ty to win the job, is pulling for him to win the job, expects him to win the job, thinks he deserves to win the job after the events of 2024.

And if he doesn’t win the job, they are going to levitate.

I’ve said I like Mack. But if he doesn’t win the job, I don’t want him to be the QB. If Ty doesn’t win the job, I don’t want him to be the QB. If Russell doesn’t win the job, I don’t want him to be the QB.

The events of 2024 scream very loudly that it’s essential that this offense have a premier QB. I want that man. I don’t care who he is.

Yep, 100 percent my thoughts. I think we will have a good selection because they all want it.

I think it is smart money to bet on Ty Simpson to start game 1.

The only reason I think it isn't a sure thing is because Mack and Russell are guys DeBoer picked instead of inherited. Considering the growing lack of confidence I have with late Saban regime's offensive prospect evaluations and player development, I'm not as high on Ty Simpson as I was on Mac Jones in a similar scenario.
