If our defense did not improve over 12 games then that only means we have absolute dummies playing for us, because I can guarantee you that Golding and coaches were out there coaching guys at telling them the right way to do things.

I watched practice footage prior to aTm and saw coaches specifically telling guys to not let a runner get outside of them, only to watch multiple guys get juked inside and let the runner get outside on them. You can lead a horse to water...

I can’t believe people are still debating Golding. Perhaps a Citrus Bowl smackdown will wake up the Bammers.

Nothing will wake those guys up.

After Saban fires him they will still be talking about the good old days of conceding 30 to 40 points easily every big game lol.

No way will Pete be the DC in 2020. In 12 games this year that bunch did little if anything that was clearly an improvement from the weeks before. The 2 ILBer never made plays no matter the combination of 8,35,36,10. They were lost on game 1 and game 12 was a repeat.

Normally under Saban if a coach is not a “great” teacher, he is at least a great recruiter. Golding is neither and I just don’t understand how is that possible... Oh yea! Newbie here, first post and happy to be on board! Roll Tide fellas

Welcome bro. There is great discourse on our Bama board with plenty of tech savvy posters with a wealth of information. I agree with you about Golding on coaching and recruiting ability or lack of ability. I’m hoping Coach Saban can snag Charlie Strong on another good DC - on field coach - recruiter.

It'll be interesting to see what happens between the early signing period and Jan 1.

Will Saban go into the bowl game with Golding as DC and take a wait and see or approach?

Or will he go into the bowl game with no DC?

The practices are almost more important than the actual bowl game imho. It’s our early spring camp and a crap load of coaching needs to get done on our youngsters on defense. So I’d hope we have a new DC but I think Golding would be better than no DC.

I would be surprised if Pete returns at either DC or ILB coach

Golding had a tough job. Loses Q, Mack to draft. Loses both MLB's to injury before season. Those losses cant be underestimated, especially in experience.
