Dayton is a Catholic school, definitely private.

Why is Miller (career 90–47 .657)preferable over Prohm (career 104–29 (.779) other than his elite 8 run? He was 5th in his conference that year.

Tidesports has an updated Coaches Hot Board. Anybody with a subscription know who they have on there?

on Mike and Mike this morning they interviewed Marshall. He was asked about the Alabama thing and sort of side-stepped it and made points about WSU (as expected).

Then later talking to Danny Manning mentioned that Danny knows what he's talking about in regards to a move - it takes about a year to get settled in school, find a doctor, adjust. It's harder with kids. "we've got two. we lose Kellen to college this year, but Maggie's in 9th grade and didn't want to go. because of that my wife kinda dug her heels in".

He said it kind of in passing, but I think we got a glimpse into where this really was. He wanted to take it but the family didn't want to move. Getting them to TTown for a visit may or may not have mattered.

Agree, but I can't fault Battle for not thinking it could possibly be the 9th grade girl.

Well, I didn't expect him to ask her to hop on his knee so he can give her a Werther's Original. I think that's why after Marshall didn't accept Monday, we were doing what we could to get them to Tuscaloosa for a visit. Would've been great if Marshall had realized that his family didn't want to leave before he allowed us to humiliate ourselves.

My fear now is that Battle and some of the BOT members don't want to suffer through another public rejection which will cause them to lower the bar.

Some of you guys are unbelievably thin-skinned. I feel zero humiliation. We offered a top coach, he considered but turned us down. Big fricking deal. Stop reading so much into it. The media is sensationalist.

Mine too, but it is only public if the leaks aren't plugged.

Marshall said on Mike & Mike that "Mr. Battle and the gentleman from the BOT laid out an impressive vision on where they are taking the basketball program. I wish them the best of luck and I hope they land a great coach".

Two things stood out:
1) impressive vision of where they are taking the basketball program. Sounds like there isn't simply "hope", but rather vision, direction, etc. That's encouraging.
2) gentleman from BOT. Not sure who that could have been. When you saw the footage of Battle getting out of the car and back on the plane there didn't appear to be anyone else with him, but Marshall clearly communicated that he met with Battle and someone else. I'm wondering if there were multiple meetings and we only heard about one.

I'm not humiliated...but if you think that Battle, Bryant Jr., or any of the other higher ups want public rejection after public rejection, then you're fooling yourself.

No, there was someone else there on Monday. Don't think it was PBJ but just because you didn't see them in the clip doesn't mean they weren't there.

In other news, FairhopeTider was in the mix for an invitation to the Masters next week, but has decided to play at Ross Bridge instead.

Pitino was never in the mix.
