We can afford to throw money at the problem until it is fixed. We'd still get a damn strong ROI, much like with Saban.

This is where we flex our muscle....I cannot believe we would actually lose this deal to a bunch of no-name bumpkins from a shitty mid-major.

So you don't like offensive and defensive scheme ran by Krystkowiak, or do we just look at coaches records and tenure to decide. Bet you were jumping for joy when Grant was hired.

Grant had both an exciting scheme and a great (albeit short) record at VCU.

I assumed an enhanced contract was already on the table and the delay was solely family. Perhaps Marshall told WSU he was accepting and WSU asked for some time to put together their best offer.

I hope we have a chance to counter if needed.

ESPN is spreading the word like he's going to stay.

If by exciting you mean give the ball to Sanders and Maynor and let them beat up on some mid-majors, I agree.

Hopefully Battle doesn't go into panic mode if Marshall declines.

A 4m signing bonus should end the discussions.

This whole saga is so painstaking. I love Alabama basketball, and getting this hire right is so vital to me.

I think the dude was planning on staying the whole time. This just gave him an opportunity to make the most possible at WSU.

Wichita is countering with hopes of keeping him. Katz just tweeted that a decision should come by the end of the weeknd and Wichita is "doing everything to try to keep him."

Sounds like his foot is halfway out the door and they're trying to lure him back. Not surprising. If it requires more, we should offer more. It's not like this is a risky hire.

this just melted their board. They didn't like this

Gregg Marshall's decision should be by end of weekend. Give Wichita State credit. Shockers doing everything they can to try to keep him.

they were just trying to decide if they wanted to boast or not

And everyone here seems to be freaking out.

He's allowing WSU to make a counter offer. Trying to decide what is going to happen next can change at any moment.

We are trying to lure a top 10 coach to a school that isn't in the best shape basketball wise. It was always going to be tough.

I guess since I always thought it would be a long shot to get him that if we don't get him I won't be as crushed unless we end up with someone like Prohm or Pitino.

And "Wichita doing every thing they can" sounds positive on our front tbh.

If I'm CBB I call him tonite and say, by the way that offer we shook on has a $2,000,000 signing bonus.
Match that...

That's call sweeting the pot.

I just think a lot of people here are just tired of it...What the hell was wichita doing before the rumors of Alabama interest in GM even before the Sweet 16 game until now?
