He was one who was taking visits to other places during his recruitment looking for NIL deals. I hate it because he’s a really good young player. But after the asskicking that we took yesterday I don’t blame him. Thanks a lot, DeBoer.

This. Who knows. But we are now in a completely different era of roster management and he could have been told to look around. Or late last night, a coach from a different team could have called and changed his mind.

Exactly, he could have literally asked all the guys in private what the were gonna do and then made his decision. I also don’t blame him for saying he wasn’t going in to the portal because his plans are his plans and it would have been stupid to answer yes even if that was always the plan

Oof. Not good to lose starters to the portal. People can say “bag this, shopping that” but starters don’t leave unless there is more than just money at play. I think this speaks to a broader rot.
