Teams should be ranked via BCS computer 1-12 and seeded accordingly. No more committee.

THIS is the way.

No, look who got the byes.

I don’t think there was an upset in the entire quarterfinal round. Only one close was UGA and I’m pretty sure ND was the favorite at kickoff.

They need to fix seeding. Oregon got unlucky but Arizona State and Boise should never have had byes.

Hindsight right? They clearly didn't look like a playoff team vs Michigan.

Not even in hindsight. When giving the byes you’re not comparing them against an unwritten standard, you’re comparing them against the other teams in the field.

I think we can all agree that ASU, BSU, SMU, and Clemson shouldn’t be in the conversation for a bye. That leaves the Oregon, UGA, OSU, Texas, ND, Indiana, Tennessee, and Penn St.
I think you can eliminate both Indiana and Penn St. Indiana had a G5 level schedule and lost to OSU. Penn St had a weak schedule and wasn’t exactly dominant. It comes down to UTk, Texas, and ND, I think ND shouldn’t be punished until they join a conference. The last spot would come down to UTk and Texas. I would be ok with either one getting the bye. You could punish UTk for their loss to Arkansas or reward them for their tougher schedule.

Is this something that concerns you?

We need to see more sample size...but Oregon coming out completely flat was surprising. Georgia ultimately overachieved this year and didnt have a talent advantage on ND...but they also looked rusty

I feel like Oregon was an overachiever. I don't care for Lanning all that much. They did beat OhioSt in the regular season, but i feel like the Rose Bowl displayed both the real OhioSt and the real Oregon. I think if uga had a legit WR1 they'd be undefeated and in the driver's seat. Their receiving corps this year was more aptly describes as corpse.

If they just had a WR that could catch the ball when it hits their hands they would probably still be alive in the playoffs.

I realize that uga lost some WRs due to criminal activity this season, but Kirby not recruiting any WRs is abysmal. It's as bad as Saban not having a qb better than Milroe in 2022 to back up Bryce or to start in 2023. Every team in the SEC has at least one receiver better than what's at uga. That should be unacceptable to their fans.
