Alabama Dept. of Public Health website isn’t working for me. I’ll post update of number of cases as soon as I see them.

None of those people were tested today. This is when the test results got reported/confirmed. Odds are all these newly reported cases were not even tested on the same day.

The have to report the cases of for no other reason to get folks to stay home. I just wish there were a way to reflect when the people presented with symptoms instead of when the test came back. That would give a far more accurate representation of activity.

New Yorkers are leaving their damn state and spreading it in Florida and other places. It’s ridiculous that folks won’t listen

129 cases in Jefferson County. That’s up 30 from this morning’s update. Have to wonder if this will push the county health officer to do the stay at home order.

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) has not confirmed a death from COVID-19 at this time. ADPH continues to investigate cases of #COVID19 in Alabama.

Wonder who is cluster fricking the reporting of our 1st death?

Nobody.

The gentleman's employer sent a statement out that he had passed after contracting COVID-19. Media picks it up and runs the headline.

ADPH has not confirmed he died of COVID-19, thus it is not tallied.

Simple as that. ADPH wants to be right, not first. Media wants to be first even if it isn't right (speaking in general, not about this situation. I have no idea if he died of COVID or not).

I was more talking nationally more than Alabama specifically (I live in the Northeast). Does the state board of education determine how late the school calendar can run in Alabama? I thought that was the schools and schools district. I know Vincent High School use to be year round. I figure if a school wants to extend the calendar I’m not sure anyone can stop them.

There is at least one public school in Mobile that goes year round right now. I remember as a teacher there that we got to vote on 3 options for the following year’s calendar. It’s been 14 years, so i don’t know if they still do that.

UPDATE: ADPH's initial numbers indicated Marshall County had 35 cases, when it should have been 1. Number stands at 386 confirmed cases statewide.

If you had an MRI scheduled at UAB, considering the number of cases being treated there, would you cancel it? My 13 yr old daughter is scheduled for one there in early April.
