-- The experimental rotation on the offensive line continued. Austin Sheppard was at left tackle, next to last year's starter Arie Kouandjio and center Ryan Kelly. On the right side, Alphonse Taylor was the guard and Leon Brown was at tackle. Brown played right guard in the Sugar Bowl after Anthony Steen's injury.

-- Senior Blake Sims was quarterbacking the first-team offense.

-- Injured defensive lineman Darren Lake was spotted for the first time. He had a sling after injuring a pectoral muscle in the weight room before spring practice. Injured receiver DeAndrew White was with Lake as they entered from the seats.

-- Freshman Cam Sims appears to be moving up in the receivers' line. He was second behind Amari Cooper on one side.

-- A quick look over at the defensive line showed A'Shawn Robinson lined up at end next to nose tackle Brandon Ivory and end Jarran Reed.

-- Wide receiver signee Derek Kief watched the action from the sideline.

This just in from LSU's spring game: Their QBs suck.

I kind of feel bad for the torture that they will put LF through.

Saban: Eddie Jackson was having a great spring, our most consistent corner.

Saban: Quarterbacks have been pretty consistent. When we get in certain situations we have not been able to respond very well.

Saban said Tony Brown fell over a hurdle during track practice recently and re-injured his shoulder. Wearing a non-contact jersey.

So Eddie Jackson AND Tony Brown are injured, and our QBs have been consistently meh?

Great.

Eddie is having an MRI tomorrow.

Reub had a neck stinger, he'll be fine.

This is the chance Cyrus Jones and Bradley Sylve needed, because they're not the same type of talent that EJ or TB is.

No need to try and explain to him what the Star is and what the Money is nor how they relate to the SAM and WILL

Yes, please explain to me the coverage responsibilities of Star and the personnel we've used in the past to man that position. Yes, Jerrell Harris was effective staying on the field moving from Sam to Star for 1 game against LSU but that was because we were more concerned with stopping the option with JJ at QB than we were of him passing. Otherwise, we've used DB's at Star because he's expected to be able handle DB responsibilities in coverage: Javy, Menzie, Vinnie, Geno, Jarrick, and...Dillon Lee? Forgive my complete ignorance for being concerned.

Sims throwing for that much makes me think......WHAT IF!!!!?!?!?!

It's obviously going to come down to Sims vs Coker. That's going to be fun to be around. This season is going to be super exciting. Our offense is going to dominate at times. You simply can't contain the talent we've assembled for whoever is the starting QB.

You missed an important part of the puzzle. Base D - Dillon Lee is at SAM, Nickle D - Geno comes in to replace SAM as the Star and Dillon moves to WILL, On pass plays Dillon has the pass coverage role CJ had last year (the same role theMoney would have in Dime but from a tighter alignment location, When we go to Dime D - Jarrick Williams comes in at Money to replace the WILL but Dillon has to know the Money coverage in case he is in and the offense shifts to 4 wide and he is required to soften his alignment to cover the flats (just like CJ did at times last year.

Dillon is not going to be the Star but at times will have to cover Money responsibilities so he shadows Jarrick at Money in practice.

If that's the case, then fine. But that's not what the practice report stated:

Dillon Lee appeared to be shadowing Jarrick Williams at Star. Geno Smith was at Money

Of course we have spring injuries at our thinnest and perhaps most critical position. Friggin injuries. Maybe eddie just sprained the knee

Jarrick was playing Star, Geno was playing Money.

Torn ACL will take at most 3 months to fully recoup from for EJ.

I know b/c I tore mine in Sept 2011 and was back running full speed by January and I just turned 34 so I know a 19-20 yr old can recover faster than I, esp with the athletic facilities that Alabama has.

But lets wait for the MRI first.
