@AaronSuttles: Saban: Alvin Kamara needed a knee scope similar to what Mark Ingram had a couple of years ago. Out a couple of weeks.
@CecilHurt: Saban post-practice: Freshman RB Alvin Kamara has arthroscopy on a knee, "would not supercede us trying to use him this year."
@AaronSuttles: Saban: Wilson Love day-to-day with a medical issue.
@AaronSuttles: Saban: Vogler been pretty consistent at TE, Fowler consistent at H-back. Need others to step up.
@AaronSuttles: Saban: O.J. Howard has showed signs of being able to contribute.
@Andrew_Gribble: Saban on Arie Kouandjio, who has had multiple knee surgeries over past 2 years. "We feel like he's one of our best offensive linemen now."

Miller will be a ST guy this year.
I bet he will be contributing regularly on defense by the end of the year.

wonder what the issues are with Love? don't have much experience on the DL depth chart past the starters and a few others..I think we like to play 9-10 at this position. I think all the true freshmen will see PT unless they are not physically strong enough

I hope this means we just red shirt him. I think this is good news in disguise because no feelings are going to be hurt about being red shirted. Not a bad thing at all.

We should redshirt Kamara. Yeldon, Fowler, Hart, Henry, Drake...
what's the use of burning Tennpenny, Jones and Kamara's RS if they aren't bringing something to the table the other 5 aren't?

Anyone think something is going on with Cooper other than just a sprained foot?

They said it would be a few days. Give it a few days.

Yeah. Saban knows what Cooper can do, let other guys get reps. Nothing more.

Has Fowler moved exclusively to H-back? If so, will that preclude him from being considered in the RB rotation?

No, the staff seems to still want him to contribute at RB, but he's clearly our best H-Back right now (Vogler's got the starting TE spot nailed down), so it will be interesting to watch, given the depth at RB.
We seriously need some other guys to step-up at TE/H, otherwise Nudie may end up stuck there out of necessity.

No, but I think it may have more to do with his bad ankle than his foot. I saw him hobble off the field during the scrimmage, and he was limping pretty badly.
They are going to be extra-safe with him leading up to the season. They know how good he is, and we need him to be full speed. He was pretty banged up in the 2nd half of last season.

Its gonna be awesome listening to the crowd chant, nudie, nudie, nudie. If, knock on wood, we win the natty, I say the team should carry him off on their shoulders.

some bama insider said that his projections for starting WR's are this if we in 3 WR set..Coop, Norwood, and White. ( at least I think he said white.

On JOX Roundtable Gribble just said he thinks that Coop and Norwood are the starters outside with Jones in the slot, but you may be talking about something else.
Coop is a lock. Jones/Black will obviously share time in the slot, but Jones will be the starter for the first few games. Opposite of Coop is interesting. White technically plays the same position as Cooper, so it's hard to see him opposite of Amari unless he's cross learned, but White is the next best WR talent wise imo. Either way, we're gonna have great talent out there no matter who lines up.

i got confused on the 3rd starter if we open with 3 WR's
Posted on 8/16/13 at 12:33 pm to AllBamaDoesIsWin
Its crazy how Jones was a guy that we almost didnt offer. Its always those guys who almost end up at AU that turn out to be good for us lol.
