Thats a regional cover. There is one with Braxton Miller, Clowney, Manziel, and Mariotta.

I think that the coaches probably know what they are doing. Not worried.

I'm sure they know what they're doing but it's no fun to never 2nd guess anything they do. Besides, I remember telling people to trust in the coaches in '10 when they moved Harris to ILB. Even our coaches make mistakes sometimes.

-- Freshman RB Alvin Kamara was not participating in any drills during the open viewing session. He had a brace on his right knee. That didn't stop strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran from sneaking up from behind him and punching the football out of his hands.

-- WR Amari Cooper (foot) was pedaling on a stationary bike throughout the entire viewing session. He should be back to practicing in a few days, Alabama coach Nick Saban said Tuesday.

-- LB Xzavier Dickson was mostly a bystander today. Dickson had patella tendon surgery shortly after spring practice.

-- LB Tana Patrick continues to wear heavy tape on his left foot/ankle but was more of a participant during today's practice.

-- CB Deion Belue (hamstring) was a participant in some drills and a bystander in others. Saban said Tuesday that Alabama was slowly working him back to speed.

-- Brandon Greene continued his work with the tight ends. Saban said Tuesday that Alabama was looking for a big body at the position who might be able to help in goal line situations. He certainly fits that profile.

-- With Cooper on the bike, Alabama had just two scholarship players, DeAndrew White and Raheem Falkins, lined up at the X receiver spot. The others were either lined up at the Y or catching passes out of the slot.

-- With Trey DePriest suspended, sophomore Reggie Ragland was working alongside C.J. Mosley during the first period of drills we saw.

-- Alabama's running backs and quarterbacks worked a bit on draw play hand-off exchanges. With Kamara out, there was a 1-to-1 ratio with the QBs and RBs.

-- LB Dillon Lee was working alongside Mosley when the first-team defense worked on its nickel package.

-- LB Reuben Foster (stinger) has been wearing a cowboy collar the past few days.

-- Scouts from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks were watching today's practice.

So, is Tana being a little banged up the reason that other guys are with CJ? To me this just clarifies that Trey didn't really do anything wrong and his job is more than safe, so they're just using this time to get Ragland and Lee more reps.

I don't think TDP's job was ever in jeopardy from Tana. TDP jumped him pretty easily last year despite Tana being his senior by 2 years. If he loses the job, it'll be to RR or RF IMO

Anyone else notice how CNS keeps saying Yeldon started the Michigan game, when that wasn't the case? I'm sure he just means that Yeldon was the primary back in that game, but still I'm half surprised none of the media who he's been talking to when he says it has called him out, they're probably scared to.

Glad to See that Yackle stuck

In this case I am not sure there is any real cance of either Yackle running a pass route this year.

He was wearing that at the scrimmage when he got the stinger. Kinda strange. Before the trainers took him off the field, Coach Saban walked over to him and fussed at him for his tackling technique and having his head down

On the play he got hurt, he actually looked good. Scraped to the ball and was in position to make a tackle for a loss, but used poor tackling technique and ended up with a stinger. Saban wasn't amused.

Sophomore Amari Cooper is still in a black non-contact jersey and continues to work with strength-and-conditioning coach Scott Cochran. Nursing a minor foot injury, Cooper is working his upper body with resistance cords.

Senior cornerback Deion Belue (hamstring) is more active than he was Wednesday morning.

Junior Austin Shepherd is working with the first-team offensive line at left guard.

Senior Kellen Williams still seems to be putting up a battle at that spot. Our best guess is that Williams could be the Alfred McCullough of this unit. McCullough was the sixth-man, so to speak, in 2011 and played a key role filling in for injured starters at various spots.

Sophomore safety Landon Collins is getting some work at the “money” position. That’s the sixth defensive back in the dime package. Vinnie Sunseri played that role for much of the 2012 season, but he is looking more like a full-time safety now.

Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Brandon Greene is working with the tight ends for the third consecutive day and fifth consecutive practice.

For a second consecutive practice, freshman Alvin Kamara (right knee) is watching his fellow running backs run through drills.

As he was in the morning practice, junior outside linebacker Xzavier Dickson mostly is watching teammates participate in drills. He continues to recover from post-spring patella tendon surgery.

Tim Williams seems to be benefitting from Dickson’s inactivity. The true freshman is backing up projected starter Denzel Devall.

We’re still 12 days away from getting an official depth chart, but it’s looking more and more evident that junior Blake Sims is the second-team quarterback and redshirt freshman Alec Morris is the third option behind starter AJ McCarron.
