fire grant end or March and show cause ends around August..What do you do for a HC until then? Inquiring minds want to know

so how do you over come the show cause by even hiring him before the Aug. stand point..Why does recruiting off campus make a difference. I think a show cause pertains to hiring someone within the window.

It makes a difference because a coach can't go see prospects and evaluate them...the lifeblood of your program. He would miss the whole summer circuit.

so you are saying with a show cause that expires in August Pearl could be hired April 1 as the head BB coach at Alabama without any consequences from the NCAA?

A person with show-cause can be hired at anytime, school must first deal with NCAA. Any indiscretions from a guy hired under show-cause will be treated as major violation.
Would be the boldest move in Bama history, hiring a guy still under show-cause.

Yes. Alabama would go before the NCAA with a proposed plan in place, the NCAA would agree with it, and Pearl would be hired.

U sound pretty confident by saying Bama Will..can you give me an insight on why you are so confident. With Bama's problems in the past 20 years with the NCAA how can you be so confident..

splain yourself Carl. 5 years does not end in 4.6. He lied to the NCAA. That is akin to you lying to your boss about a major issue at work.
I like Pearl and would like to see him at Bama but I think the show cause will keep Bill Battle from hiring him.

Because with only 3 months remaining on his penalty, they aren't going to say no. Also, if Alabama actually went through with it, they would have the blessing of Mike Slive first which would be another bonus in the eyes of the NCAA.

Yea the more I think about it I don't think Bill Battle would be willing to take that risk and the baggage that comes with him...
