Damn, I feel bad for BB8. He needs a visit from his smoking hot fiancé to get his mind off football. I thought he was in the thick of things.

I think that about wraps things up. Bateman, despite his head scratcher moments will start against the Trojans but I think Hurts plays. I think I may have figured out why Bateman is the check down champ: he knows his own arm strength and knows that the longer the throw, the more likely it is to come apart on him resulting in the DB being able to recover and at best, knock it down, at worst, pick it. So he naturally resorts to the shorter throws. Hurts will have to take over at some point if we are to have a chance at the playoffs. That's MHO.

Defense sounds sick. Kicking still a crap shoot. And in other news, water is wet.

Boz, how is JK Scott looking so far?

He has head scratching moments AND zero arm talent. That's a pretty bad combo

Is he back to freshman year form or is that asking too much of him?

Yea, the big difference in Bateman and Sims/Coker is Bateman has no arm talent. He can't stretch the field. AND he's not exactly acing the "senior and in charge on the offense" test either.

He might start, but I'm not sure he has checked enough of the Saban boxes yet. And, contrary to popular belief, I dont think just being an upper classman is all that it takes.

Exactly. frick Hurts' talent. I legit think he checks the boxes more than the others do. And if not right now, he will by week 7 or so...IMO.

Something saban mentioned to my group after the press conference. It went something like this " if lane had his way we would be playing the younger guy no questions , he has more to offer". The. He changed the subject quick. Was interesting but at this point someone has to win the team and Tim Williams loves hurts. Was slapping the arse and smacking the helmet all day.

If you had to place a bet, who do you think starts and are both going to get playing time?

I think Bateman starts and hurts plays. If hurts breaks off a good one he wins the team it's over.

That is what I'm thinking too. Bateman just can't keep the opposing defense honest. He is too easy to key in on

Boz, I'm going to kinda put you on the spot here. Throw out the disaster that was BB8 today, but the other two guys had some turnovers too. Your opinion, tell us whether the TOs were just the defense making a great play, poor decision by the QB, tipped ball, etc.

It was just a matter of time until this happened. Evans is just too insanely talented

Weird part is they made it seem like Hamilton would play more but it's not what I was seeing. Maybe more of a speciality role?

BB8's were all bad decision, he fell apart.

Batemans was a bad decision and a good play

Hurts one was a good play one he was baited in zone throwing across himself.

This is going to happen in inter squad scrimmages. The defense knows our offensive plays. Makes it easier to cheat. Scrimmages will always have a high rate of picks
