So, will all this "Saban only starts the oldest player" stuff be thrown out the window when BB8 starts on Saturday?
Because............that's a very real possibility.

I claim zero inside information. I do claim to have a few friends who once in a blue moon know things that to this point have always been 100% (dating back to "I'm telling you, we are going to run the wildcat with Mark Ingram the first play against Virginia Tech" in 2009). They think that it's a pretty legitimate possibility.

I've thought Barnett would be the starter all along (well, the scrimmage REPORTS last week had me second-guessing). But, I think he's the guy as long as he can avoid more implosions.

Yea - that scrimmage report was scary. Hopefully it was a blip on the radar.
My hope is, if it is Barnett, we do a lot of RPO stuff, get him easy reads, get him running, then start advancing stuff.

USC is going to start a new LT.
Trojans fricked.

Aren't they replacing most of their front on defense? That's why I'm not too concerned on how the O-Line shapes up.
Actually their DL this year has more talent then last according to their sites and what I heard. Basically like replacing starters who were 3 stars with experience now with 4 star backups they think will be stronger across the board. Also they brought in a top JUCO DL and and grad transfer for the DL from Utah.
The real concern is their New/Returning DC. Who runs a lot of 5 man fronts in his 5-2 base.

Did Wheeler get hurt. He is a senior this year for them and 3 year starter. The strength for them is their OL.

Yeah he has a lingering foot injury

That will be huge for them and he had the most experience of their 4 returning starters on the OL. Projected as an early round draft pick

You're asking me if I'm drunk because I said Saban isn't always right and it's not a sin to question his choices?
Really?
Wow. Just wow.
I asked if you were drunk because the two posts you made, before the edits, look like someone made them at the end of a 12 hour bender. You know what I'm talking about.

If that happens, YStar would be well served to just pronbomb out and start a new alter.

Alabama is not the best team in college football and several other perceived elites are vastly overrated.
That's according to Fox Sports senior analyst Bruce Feldman who updated his preseason Top 25 on Monday, making several noticeable changes a few days out from this week's season openers in college football.
Here's his list:
25. USC
24. North Carolina
23. Oregon
22. Baylor
21. Washington State
20. Georgia
19. Michigan State
18. UCLA
17. Ole Miss
16. TCU
15. Texas A&M
14. Washington
13. Iowa
12. Notre Dame
11. Louisville
10. Stanford
9. Ohio State
8. Houston
7. Tennessee
6. Oklahoma
5. Michigan
4. Florida
3. Alabama
Fox Sports: "Once again, the Tide enter the season for the third year in a row with uncertainty at QB. Maybe it’ll be Cooper Bateman. Maybe it’ll be freshman Jalen Hurts. One thing I think will make this year different than the past two is there’s no Ryan Kelly at center to anchor the O-line. Still, there’s a lot to work with for OC Lane Kiffin, starting with TE O.J. Howard and WR Calvin Ridley. Bowling Green transfer Gehrig Dieter also should be a big factor. Another newcomer to keep an eye on is freshman RB B.J. Emmons. Word from inside the program is he’s a dynamic talent who also has terrific ball skills."

Eh, these guys get bored with putting us #1 each year, and you could make an argument for Clemson or LSU (I guess).
I assume #4 is Florida State not Florida?

This kid is going to be a beast and pass some people in front of him. He can run downhill and loves to hit people but he has the speed to turn the corner and score. Hence his recent sub 4.4 40 time. He also has great hands to catch passes.

Hard to believe we're two days away from SEC football isn't it?
The nation's most competitive league featuring a Power 5-leading six nationally-ranked teams in the AP Top 25 will try and retain its throne this fall against several elites itching to wear the crown in the College Football Playoff.
Before we kick off with two games on Thursday night in Tennessee, let's hand out some preseason SEC superlatives:
quote:
Best in-game coach
He’s the hardest to beat and has the best players, so of course this one goes to Nick Saban. Four national titles in seven years is unprecedented during the era of parity in college football, but Alabama’s leader has built a modern-day dynasty. Much of the Crimson Tide’s domination begins with preparation and never being surprised by what they may encounter during the game. Every now and then — we’re talking once, maybe twice a season — Saban’s defense is gashed by a mobile quarterback, but no team in the nation is better against the run and converting on third down is a nightmare.
quote:
Stat-stuffer on defense
Wait until you see the numbers from Alabama linebacker Tim Williams at season’s end. He could lead college football in sacks and tackles-for-loss as a hybrid pass rusher. One of the nation’s most efficient players last season according to Pro Football Focus, Williams is pound for pound the SEC’s top defender heading into the 2016 campaign. He looks a lot like former Mizzou great and Denver Broncos first-round pick Shane Ray on film, but a touch faster and more athletic. Will he meet lofty expectations with extended snaps is the question, however. Jeremy Pruitt thinks so, guaranteed.
quote:
Hardest hitter
Anyone who’s told by coaches to “hey, turn it down a notch” is a force to be reckoned with between the lines. Alabama’s Reuben Foster leads the league in helmet rattling hits over the last few seasons and steps into a leadership role as a vet following the departure of Reggie Ragland. If he can stay healthy and avoid knocking himself out, first-team All-SEC honors should be in store. It’s frightening that Foster trimmed down from 240 to 225 during the offseason and improved his speed. Unfair really.
